Not to dwell on Gilligan’s Island too long, but I thought there was an episode, maybe the first or second, where they actually tried repairing the Minnow using sap from the trees and it ended up coming apart completely and sinking.

My question about Gilligan’s Island is why didn’t the film crew documenting their everyday life try to help them off the island?

Don’t make fun of the Historical Records!

    But anyway…

Monty Python had a bit like that.

They were trying to make syrup for breakfast/pancakes.  Turned out to be “glue.”  But it came apart after drying.

It didn’t sink though, they never put it in the water; it came apart on the shore.  (Which makes it look like they used the glue EVERYWHERE, for no reason.)

(And in regards to making fun of the Historical Records, they should NOT squish the frame to appear “widescreen!”)
