The Final Frontier

We’re a day early, but certainly not a dollar short as we tackle another busy news week. First up, Washington Examiner magazine editor (and the co-host of That Sethany Show) Seth Mandel on the shootings in Pittsburgh and the Mandel’s new life in D.C. Then, our good friend (and Ricochet’s Law Talk with Epstein & Yoo podcast co-host) John Yoo stops by to school on the the 14th Amendment and birthright citizenship, caravans, and geek out a bit on Star Trek. Also, Halloween in different parts of the country, and the President’s views on Jews.

Music from this week’s podcast: Across The Border by Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris

James’s rant about dog whistles was perfect. I think he picked the top three that (coloqualism) me off the most, too.

I would date it to 1968, when the liberal media decided the Vietnam War was lost, and from that point on refused to entertain the ample evidence to the contrary. They simply couldn’t bear it, that once again a Republican President (especially Nixon) would pull the Democrats’ chestnuts out of the fire, as had happened in Korea just 15 years earlier.

Think of all the suffering this caused. Sick.

Mark Levin says that we should use the term “statist” instead of “progressive”. The media are all statists. They will excuse and support anything that advances statism. That is what they do. They never let up.

Mark Levin is probably right about that.  And for sure “progressive” is not accurate since their ideas all come from about 100 years ago or more.

I think it would help if we changed bunch of the words we use. Just think if every congressman started using the word “statist” whenever he could. If the Democrats find it provocative, big deal, it’s the truth.

This is the reality of “progressivism”: Ep. 1272 Gene Epstein on How to Debate a Socialist.

I won’t be surprised if, after this coming election, there’s a lot of complaining on the left and in the “mainstream media” (but I repeat myself) of the “I don’t know ANYONE who voted for THEM!” type.  And they won’t have a clue how that reflects on themselves.

With a name like Peter Robinson shouldn’t one person be photoshopped as a member of Lost in Space instead of Dr. McCoy?

Oh, did you ever see the Space Family Robinson comics?  Same family name, but very different from Lost In Space.

Was that an infomercial I just listened to? Was Peter trying to throw the debate with Yoo?

They had some back and forth that got so far as to extablish the the 14th amendment

    1. is about children of slaves
    2. did not apply to aboriginals (who are in the US and are in it legally.)
    3. was written by people who hadn’t conceived of illegal border crossing.

…and somehow this stands as proof that the 14th amendment is about illegal immigrants?

They really need to have John Eastman on.
