Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
It’s an interactive session in the faculty lounge, as Professors Richard Epstein and John Yoo submit to the annual tradition of answering listener questions. There’s some serious legal analysis — can Donald Trump become president from behind bars? Can the 14th Amendment keep him off the ballot? What powers does Congress have to regulate abortion in the aftermath of the Dobbs case? But then we go to the deep cuts: Who are the greatest writers in the history of the Supreme Court? What’s it really like behind closed doors in Washington? Will the populist swing in the Republican Party reshape the Supreme Court? And then, of course, someone had to ask Richard about Roman Law. Be careful what you wish for.

All the kids are interested in Roman Law these days; Twitter told me so.
And who is this “Mike McConnell” that Richard mentioned? Does he have any cognitive issues and might he be interested in a career in the Senate?
Former Director of the NSA OR the morning drive guy on 700 WLW Cincinnati
I think Richard transposed their names at one point in the show, but one of those references was to Mitch and the other was to this Mike McConnell.
I just want to register that I am 110% in favor of an episode entirely about Roman Law.
The extra 10% is me trying to figure out how to get Steve Hayward in there to discuss the Clean Air Act to mess with Professor Yoo even further.
Thanks and well done, gentlemen.
I was hacked at myself for missing a chance to request Prof Epstein’s Roman Law reading list, but he gave some guidance anyway. Great!
