Once in a while, when the planets and the stars align (or when Rob Long is not available), we do a GLoP/The Remnant cross-over episode. This week, John Podhoretz is the “guest” as Jonah and John discuss whether or not Fredo is an ethnic slur (spoiler alert: it’s not), who is the Frank Pantagelli (and who is Tom Hagen) in the Jeffery Epstein story, Jonah’s adventure’s at the Iowa State Fair, and the dangers of legitimizing conspiracy theories.

Does Rob swim with the fishes?
Rich Little is still alive. He’s not even 80 yet.
Siri says:
Rich Little is not dead.
Jpod’s looking a little peeked there. Maybe he needs to relax a little… In his garden… Oooo, JPod, you’re looking pretty flushed. Just sayin’…
Somewhere around 40 to 45 years ago, I wrote a short story – sadly it was never published – where powerful/influential people (corporate leaders, etc) were being blackmailed with incriminating photos/videos that were computer generated using data from medical scans, etc. These days something like those TSA “x-ray scan” booths might be a more likely source.
Jonah’s bit about the remodeled barn, sounds like an excerpt from what might still be the very best interview I’ve ever heard, with Mark Steyn:

I love these podcasts but I have to disagree the Godfather and it’s sequels are horrible movies.
Rich did Norm MacDonald’s mom favorite impression, Charlotte Elizabeth Whitton OC CBE (1896-1975), a Canadian feminist and mayor of Ottawa, on Norm Macdonald Live in 2017.
How’s that for obscure?
One issue for impressionists today could be that they often were satirizing or exaggerating etc, the actual person. But nobody could do an impression of AOC for example, that would be more ridiculous than what she says herself.
It took me awhile to get time to listen, but I am surprised. John is the obvious Fredo.
