This week on the world famous (many people are saying that) GLoP Culture podcast, it’s just two guys (John Podhoretz is on vacation) talking about the pluses and minuses of travel, some thoughts on the media and the way they’ve covered the Jussie Smollett case and the Mueller Report, a review of Les Mis, and…giggling. Lots of giggling.

“And, for the umpteenth time, asking Russia to find Mrs. Clinton’s e-mails was a joke. Sheesh.”
Exactly, Trump is usually a Rodney Dangerfield comedian rather than a “Bob and Ray” comedian but he was making a wry joke here.
This was from the period when we were supposedly looking for Clinton’s 30,000 emails that had been “scrubbed, like with a cloth”. The premise is that Russia had had copies of Clinton’s home brew server since it went on line (I’m sure they did) and the punch line is the easiest way to find them would be to ask the Russians.
Or I suppose we could have asked China or Israel or Iran or the UK or France or Uganda, for that matter. Her server was probably traded around the worlds intelligence agencies like cigarrettes in prison.
Thank you. I threw down that list off the top of my head.
The article at The American Conservative
The Primordial Ooze of the Collusion Conspiracy
goes into more gory detail about the origin of the fabricated story designed to derail a presidential candidate/President-elect/President.
It boggles my mind that the Democrat Party initiated a false narrative (thatpart alone isn’t surprising), that the highest levels of government officials picked up and ran with, in an attempt to thwart the will of voters. In the process they hoodwinked the judiciary, or the judiciary was complicit.
This is truly banana republic stuff.
Here’s analysis of the media’s part. Lee Smith. 10 minutes.
I always wondered that about Rent too. Why shouldn’t they have to pay their rent?
Obnoxious entitled losers. Was there a single character in the [movie] that you’d want to spend time with in real life?

Hades Town will a very long way to go to be the best musical based on Orpheus and Eurydice.
Black Orpheus is a 1959 romantic tragedy film made in Brazil by French director Marcel Camus and starring Marpessa Dawn and Breno Mello. It is based on the play Orfeu da Conceição by Vinicius de Moraes, which is itself an adaptation of the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, set in the modern context of a favela (“slum”) in Rio de Janeiro during Carnaval.
The film is particularly noted for its soundtrack by two Brazilian composers: Antônio Carlos Jobim, whose song “A Felicidade” opens the film; and Luiz Bonfá, whose “Manhã de Carnaval” and “Samba de Orfeu” have become classics of bossa nova.
