This week (yes, I said week — more about that in a moment), the men of GLoP diagnose a certain candidate for President, political correctness run amok, Star Trek is 50, Stranger Things, an a fond RIP to the great Gene Wilder. And GLoP heads, we have some good news for you: starting this month, you’ll get twice as much GLoP for your money as we are going to do TWO shows a month going forward. Huzzah!
Make it so, @ejhill.

John’s face with Kirk’s hair makes him look strangely like Woody Allen.
So somewhere out there, there is a version of Jonah Goldberg without a beard who supports Trump.
Is it really appropriate for Jonah to be wearing Vulcan-face?
The good Jonah then?

Twice a month? Good news indeed.
Dammit, Jim. I’m a sitcom producer, not a doctor!
Illogical.
That haircut really does not serve Jonah well.
It is illogical to think a haircut could serve a Vulcan. Haircuts are incapable of action.
A GLoP about Star Trek? Yeah I’m not getting anything done this afternoon.
I’m just listening to the beginning of the podcast and must comment that the reason Hillary doesn’t drink enough water might be because when you drink a lot of fluids, then you have to do something else often, and it’s usually not convenient to have to do that something else when you’re standing on a stage in some union hall.
I can’t stop laughing at that picture. One of EJ’s best.
I’ve never won a lottery , split the pot, raffle(for anything valuable), silent auction (for anything below what it would cost anyhow), etc. …., but now, since I was one the Ricochetee who actually asked for more GLoP, and the GLoP Guys decided to go ahead and give us twice the GLoP, I now feel as if I’ve actually won “something”!!!
Thank you GLoP Guys!
Even by Voyager standards that is pretty damn wooden. And she used to be a screaming sex symbol back in the day.
Here, she barely….engages.
She obviously felt uncomfortable with the lingo. Nothing was said with conviction.
Sooooo….twice as much Trump bashing per month? And belittling Trump supporter twice as often? I have not listened to GLoP for months because of it. But I might have to listen to this for the ST turns 50 content.
Lighten up Francis

Yippee kiyay, Mister Falcon!
Here’s the “Engage” command. Not quite like Rob said, but maybe it was after some coaching. She certainly plays it boring. They were smart to replace her.
To see the order, set course for one minute 38 seconds and…engage!
Wasn’t planning to listen to the podcast but I guess I’ll power thru.
Sorry. I swallow a lot of aggression. Along with a lot of pizzas.
I love that movie. Never gets old.
How did Bujold get the job? She was horrible. I haven’t seen stiffness like that since Al Gore.
Because the line “we were once like you, but we have evolved as a species” has the appropriate level of condescention when delivered with a French-Canadian accent.
Kate Mulgrew, unrepentant liberal, married an Ohio politician. She could have been our First Lady but everybody liked her more than her then-husband who lost in a landslide.
I always found her a cross between Kate Hepburn and Lauren Bacall… Two other women whose political leanings I found abhorrent.
Seems like a lot of politics goes through the USS Voyager. Just think, if the show had gone differently, no 7 of 9, no unsealed Ryan divorce records, no Senator Obama, etc.
All scenarios to investigate when we find the Guardian of Forever. “Many such journeys are possible…”
Given the Clinton Sex Scandal Standard the Jack Ryan v Barack Obama Senate race was the most survivable “scandal” ever. Judy Barr Topinka(God rest her soul..or good riddance given she arguably gave the world Barack Obama) was an idiot to have a very electable Jack Ryan bow out because his ex-wife Jerry Ryan claimed her husband at the time Jack Ryan, asked her to have sex with other men in a sex club in Paris.
First many salacious claims are made in divorce proceedings (doesn’t mean they are all true…could be he was just joking…he was pretty drunk at the time..etc)
Second even if it were true who gets dropped from a political race for sex he asked someone else to to have, which she refused to have anyhow?????
My position is if you are going to drop out of a political race for a sex scandal you should at least have had the benefit of actually having engaged in some form of sex yourself.
Yes, but it is possible to embarrass decent people — that’s the problem with the Republicans, too many decent people. And with principles! Now where could we get someone who is not embarrassable? Think, people, think.
Oh, and by the way, I was one of the people hoping for more GLOP. Blame me, if you want.
Thanks, GLOP guys — even though you are part of the GOPi*.
[*GOPi = GOP incompetents]
