    Regarding the smart thermostats in Colorado. I’m pretty sure all of those people took a financial incentive to submit to that crap. It wasn’t the notorious situation that people have been fearing.

    Yeah. I heard it was an initial $100 and a $25 annual credit on the bill. One guy interviewed said that he had been able to override the imposed setting all previous times. This time he was locked out of all control. I suppose you can complain, but it’s what you signed up for. Nothing really to report.

    It’s a cautionary tale for the rest of us.   I don’t have a “smart” thermostat that can be controlled through the internet, and there’s no way I’d voluntarily install one now.   Unfortunately, the local utility installed “smart” meters on our homes years ago, or I wouldn’t have that either.

    Same here. It’s going to be interesting if they find a way to force controlling it.
