On today’s podcast: Unfortunate job numbers—job creation expected to be around 1 million coming in at 266,000 instead—may be the perfect expression of how intrusive government policy in the form of direct unemployment benefits from the federal government are actually encouraging people to stay home rather than go out to work. More bad policy is in the potential offing through the infrastructure proposals. More bad policy is being made by the notion of waiving patent rights for the vaccines. Give a listen.

I’m shocked, shocked that taxing and spending is not working and that Joe Biden is a stinkin’ Democrat! Who’d have thunk it?!

What is John talking about when he said that Trump said that the caravans were going to kill us all? The caravans were a problem that he talked about because the left wouldn’t.

And the caravans have arrived bearing Covid and could actually kill us.

Or other diseases. They were something to worry about. I’m sure Trump said something or other that was over the top but the being concerned about violations of border policy is something a President is supposed to do.

When I was applying for my Fiance Visa to immigrate to the US and get married back in 1985, I had to have a full medical check with testing and even provide chest x-rays as I had been vaccinated for TB. It took 3 months to get the visa. The embassy pretty much told me to just get a visitor’s visa and adjust status later, but I preferred to follow the law.  Ironically when I went to get a green card, the INS person looked at me quite perplexed and asked if I wanted to adjust status. Why have laws if they are not enforced?

To create the illusion of law to cover the use of arbitrary power in the service of ideological goals.
