Canada does have a constitution and does have protections for freedom of speech:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Charter_of_Rights_and_Freedoms

90% of the population is vaccinated. The protests isn’t about vaccination, its about the mandates, its about the requirement to be isolated for 5 days when crossing the border. How can a trucker make a living, if he’s locked up for 5 days every time he crosses the border? Imagine going from 8-12 trips across the border a week to 1 or 2? How can anyone make a living if their productivity is cut by 95%?

You’re completely wrong about Trudeau and the popularity of the mandates. NO NO NO!!!! Trudeau is unpopular because he’s a weakling. The old advice – never corner a weak man is very applicable here. In this case the weakling cornered himself. Imagine how strong he’d look, if he faced the criticism of the truckers. Imagine if he walked out of the parliament building and walked through the protest and talked with protestors face to face? He was there – he was only a few yards from them – he could have easily walked through the protesters and engaged with them. Instead he demonized the truckers, making any kind of discussions with them difficult – if not impossible. When discussion ends, violence begins. Because he can’t debate the issue with the truckers, he must silence them.

Another thing you’re missing about Canada. Canada does not NOT have a free press. The Canadian government subsidies the press (outside of the CBC – which gets $1.5 Billion per year) to the tune of $600 million per year. This is on top of the advertising budget of the federal government – which is the top advertiser, by a long shot in Canada. It outspends big Pharma, Liquor, sneakers and cars by a long long mile.

I’ve been learning so much about Canada by following the convoy protests. Learning about the country’s press has been very discouraging. It’s outrageous.

Trudeau even bragged about it, at the 2019 Canadian Media Diner (I think its a clone of the white house media assoc)…

Anyway they tried to defend the remarks as being taken out of context when critics jumped on him. The entire boring event is on video you can re-wind it as far as you can stomach to see the context of his remarks.

Remember during the Iraq war when it was said that Saddam Hussein didn’t really know whether he had WMD or not because no one would tell him the truth? Although I’m not sure that is true, I am wondering whether Trudeau really knows the conditions among Canadians and their real opinions, if the media will only report one side (and often a false side) of everything.

Yes, I am sure he knows. He’s no Saddam, nobody catches a bullet for delivering bad news, maybe a scowl or a pout. He does live in a durable bubble of misconception – but its not bullet proof.

Sure sure, he read the Wikipedia page…
