Today’s podcast takes up the arrest of Julian Assange and his strange journey from leftist hero to pariah, as well as the Attorney General’s interest in looking into the way his department might have been looking into the Trump campaign and the outrage that interest has inspired. Give a listen.

All these journalists and Democrats saying that it was only reasonable for these good public servants to investigate Trump because of his remarks about Putin, didn’t seem to think the same about Obama telling Vladimir that he’d be more flexible after his election, or about Bill meeting Lynch on that tarmac. Trump’s remarks can be explained by the fact that Trump knows very little of history or foreign policy and says whatever pops into his head. Thankfully his policy bears no resemblance to his horrible remarks. You can’t explain Obama away the same way. Goodness knows I am no Trump supporter but I believe the “noble” institutions are not noble at all and are in fact, full of partisan hacks who acted in very bad faith. I hope they see some justice dealt … but I don’t think it likely.

Isnt it funny, that almost everyone who demonize Julian Assange, would also lionize the publishers of the Pentagon Papers. Its not about the act of leaking, if a leak damages a republican its journalism and government transparency – if the leak damages a democrat its a crime. The media can no longer claim to be biased – they’re openly partisan.

Putin hates Hillary because Hillary interfered in Russia’s parliamentary elections, back in 2011. Putin was messing with the election – not to get Trump elected – but rather to weaken Hillary’s landslide. If Hillary ran the table, and had the house, senate with solid majorities. She’d have a free hand to have a foreign policy dominated presidency. A strong Hillary presidency would be a nuclear waste train wreck for the entire world – a disaster from which there is no escape. Putin watched her policy destroy Libya, Kill Omar, and cackle on “60 Minutes” about it. Putin is evil, but he fears crazy.

If the media is “Ok” with the Obama White House spying on campaigns, journalists and lobbyists – Iam sure they’ll be ok with it, If the Trump White House does the same thing… After all sauce met gander.

Whether or not Byron York, John Solomon, etc. (Rothman’s latest list of journalists he doesn’t like and attacks ad hominem) are engaging in conspiracy theories, at least they have the timeline and the details straight about the 2016-2017 surveillance and unmasking of Trump campaign officials. If you can’t remember the name of Sally Yates or in what order the events happened at the beginning of the Trump administration, you may want to table a vague, un-enlightening discussion until you do some prep work.
