Will Republicans regret not calling witnesses or have voters priced Trump’s summary impeachment acquittal into their electoral calculations? Will Bernie Sanders’ “surge” in the polls manifest in a victory for him tonight, or is his appeal too narrow to win converts beyond his base? And was this the most scandalous Super Bowl ever? Give a listen and find out.

A major portion of the impeachment process for the democrats was to provide the red meat they promised to their base.  They said they would impeach Trump and now they did.  If they changed any minds, that’s just the cherry on top of their banana split.  It’s a win-win for them.  They had to do it so they can say they tried, “and look at those evil republicans”.

Agreed.  The optics are more important than the results.  See Mueller
