I know they played different roles, but I have long thought Tim Russert and Charles Krauthammer were alike in that in their wisdom, judiciousness, intelligence, and just plain likability, they gave a sense of stability to their networks, and their deaths left a huge void at their networks. And in both cases, that void was filled by fools.
