Of All the Rhetorical Questions You Could’ve Asked…

CecileRichardsCecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, writing in The Washington Post today:

While our opponents have been working to create scandal and panic where none exists, doctors and nurses at Planned Parenthood health centers have continued to provide care to thousands of women, men and young people every day — contraception, cancer screenings, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and safe and legal abortion. Whose efforts are doing more to help families and make our country healthier?

Whose efforts are doing more to help families than an institution explicitly dedicated to preventing their formation or expansion? Ms. Richards, virtually everybody’s.

This article is full of good stuff.

The most recent attacks in this decades-long campaign represent a new low.

What if you found out that a teacher in your local elementary school was a pedophile? Or that the minister of your church was dealing drugs?

To say something would create scandal and panic where none had existed before. To stay silent is criminal.

My fellow members of the media, I am looking at you. The criminals are begging you for your silence.

I know this is hardly the point but there’s no doubt her paragraphs reveal the importance of the Oxford comma:

While predictably these videos do not show anything illegal on Planned Parenthood’s part, medical and scientific conversations can be upsetting to hear, and I immediately apologized for the tone that was used, which did not reflect the compassion that people have come to know and expect from Planned Parenthood.

I can’t help it.  I just find the name of Cecile’s crisis management firm SKDKnickerbocker slightly scatological.

Break them up like AT&T and make them separate the abortion part of the business, then stomp all over it. Force them separate the abortions from the more popular “women’s health” initiatives. I think too many people are willing to accept the bad to keep the good, so to speak. So make PP split in two and tell them you will give them the taxpayer money for the non-abortion side of the business. Then you look like you’re in favor of the women’s health minus the abortion.

A question for the doctors in the house: aren’t these abortions, which…benefit…from less crunchy techniques so as better to harvest the baby’s body parts, necessarily late term abortions?

And baby body parts for “research.”  I keep thinking about Josef Mengele.

It’s so sick, and so Pravda. So Stalinist. What the hell does the Supreme Court have to do with “preventive health screenings”? What case was that?

After several generations of euphemisms we have arrived at “women’s health” to describe what Planned Parenthood does. But I find “abortion” itself to be a euphemism that lacks descriptive power over what is really going on.

Is it time to go back to the original term: “murder?” Or at the very least, “baby-killing?”

I would actually contest this point a bit about how her “organization” (I am being kind here). When a woman conceives a child her body begins to release hormones in order to physically mature the body in order to raise the child out of the womb (example is her mammaries). An induced abortion halts this maturation process and so leaves those cells immature and pre-cancerous thus increasing a woman’s chance of Breast Cancer significantly (which is one of the most common forms of cancer that afflict women). On top of this the whole abortion kills humans in the womb and puts a price on human life like slavery does.

kylez:I love how apparently they help men too. And of course they do. Planned Parenthood helps men more than anything.

It sure as hell helps misogynistic and promiscuous males. That is very true.

Since our very beginning, our health centers, providers and patients have come under outrageous attacks, political and otherwise. These attacks are not about us. They are about the ability of women across the country to access health care. Period.”

Of course! The vast right wing extremist conspiracy to keep women from getting adequate health care from Planned Parenthood. Because everyone knows that women can’t get adequate healthcare from any other medical facility or institution in America. It’s simply not possible. Those evil extremists!

This is all about the convenience of quietly snuffing out the life of a potential human being not because it endangers a woman’s body but because it’s inconvenient and embarrassing and this is an expedient way to get rid of that inconvenience and embarrassment …while being a convenient way for Planned Parenthood to make money harvesting organs, tissue and other fetal body parts on the pretext of furthering medical science. These people are pond scum and that’s an insult to pond scum.

One of her arguments is that if you heard a heart surgeon, for example, discussing an operation he performed, you would find his description of the details sickening, because you aren’t used to hearing the gory descriptions of what is entailed.

The difference is, the surgeon is Trying to SAVE a Life.  The abortionist is Trying to END a Life.

    Right.

Imagine a conversation in which the heart surgeon said, “I could save his life, but he’s an old man. Instead, I think I’ll let him die so that his other organs can be sold on the black market. Do you think I could clear enough to buy that Lamborghini I’ve had my eye on?”

Custom Slaughter was a term Angelo Codevilla used on the R-Podcast this afternoon.

    seems about right.

even more so when I googled the term, and found out it is a real thing.

But for meat. Custom Slaughter is for meats that have no state or federal oversight, and many support it as a means toward more humanity toward the source of our food.

    http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2010/01/the-need-for-custom-slaughter/33904/

Just like Planned Parenthood though, you can’t sell what you butcher in a custom slaughterhouse.
