Divine Power Answers Bloggers’ Prayers

Ramesh Ponnuru at National Review with the scoop that sent 1,000 political writers’ hearts aflutter. It is on:

When Josh Alcorn joined the Draft Biden super PAC, MSNBC headlined its story on the move “Draft Biden just got real.” Alcorn had been finance director and senior adviser to the late Beau Biden, the vice president’s son, and had worked as finance director for Harry Reid as well. Judging from phone conversations Alcorn had on an Amtrak train from New York to Wilmington yesterday, the Biden campaign is about to get still more real.

Another passenger said that Alcorn was being loud enough in the café car to make it hard to work. He said that Alcorn had said on one call, “I am 100 percent that Joe is in.” He was less certain of when Biden would announce, but guessed it would be in mid-October. Alcorn’s own plans to travel to California in early October would have to be canceled if Biden announced earlier.

Biden-Camaro

It looks like 2016 will be a big [expletive] deal after all, pitting the record of articulate, bright and clean Barack America against the party that’s gonna put y’all back in chains. Stand up, Neil Kinnock, and let the people see you! Oh, God love ya … what am I talking about? I just meant that you can’t go to a White House unless you have a slight Delaware accent and an Amtrak ticket, man.

Yes, I’m thankful as a blogger, but I’m nervous as an American. Nevertheless, politics just got fun again.

The only thing surprising is that there was “another” passenger on Amtrak.

OMG what a gasbag. I can’t stand his nasal voice. Also, I hadn’t seen his original hair in years. I don’t think he will like running for president very much when all these old videos come out, not to mention the plagiarism and the year of running around with hair plugs. I am sorry, I know everyone keeps saying how likable he is, but I just don’t like him.

If Biden wins the nom, I would make him the betting favorite over any Republican in the race.

No, all they have to do is show clips of him from the 80s and show the plagiarism of the speech. He also did some plagiarizing in law school. He’s a total lightweight. Not that the American voter can be counted on to realize that. And isn’t there a clip of him admitting that he’s been wrong on every foreign policy issue? OMG I hope to God you’re not right.

I take the point that… potentially… he could save the Democrats from a Clinton implosion. But there’s one clear benefit to a competitive race, if a Biden run produces that: it would ensure Democrats vote in their own primary, not ours.

It’s becoming obvious to me that the media controls who wins, and they are getting close to flaunting it.

I thought Biden was a very poor choice by Obama because he’s the government political version of Donald Trump. Blustery, gaffe-prone, making bold statements without caution, and a kind of locker-room banter on random subjects. Biden isn’t very smart and everyone knows it. If you could waterboard a liberal, he’d be quick to admit that G.W.B has at least 10 IQ points on Joe.

That was a turning point in my perception.

He was protected.   His gaffes were ignored and never mocked as Dan Quayle would be for far lesser slip-ups.

The Democrats don’t control the media. The media controls the Democrats.

So they can usher Biden in if they want to.

The media can protect Biden from Republicans, but they can’t protect him from Hillary. And they can’t protect her from him.

There will be no forgotten embarrassments for either, by the time this is done. All good.

So does this maybe mean we get Trump back to planet earth just in time to watch the Democrats run their own clown show while we have a substantive and effective debate among obvious grown-ups?

    One can dream.

I admit, that does make him more likable to me.  But then I remember him telling a crowd of black people that “Republicans want to put y’all back in chains.”  He’s a jerk.

Scariest sentence I’ve read on Ricochet. The “Twilight Zone” twist to the end of the story we never saw coming.

My personal opinion is that the only thing that concerns Mr. Obama is that his legacy is preserved. It will not be preserved if a Republican is elected. First his executive orders will be reversed. Health care might be gutted and the Iran Treaty may be shredded. If President Obama decides that Hillary cannot win you will see good ol’ Uncle Joe run with the full blessing of the White House. Republicans should be careful what they wish for, and you better believe that the mainstream media will play the Beau Biden card and will constantly point to the fact that in spite of his grief Joe Biden cares so much for us that he will give up his personal grief to be our shepherd.

How anybody can think Biden is likable after the 2012 VP debate is beyond me.

That’s the truth. I hated him in that debate, with his smarmy smile, his insults, and his non sequitur arguments. He’s one of these guys who thinks that he can win the argument by (literally) raising his voice.
