   WillowSpring: what life used to be like pre-Covid.

   Not pre-Covid.

   Pre-government mass orders of confinement.

   There is a critical difference.

   • With government shutdown orders and without covid, life would have been very similar to what it has permanently become, a life where one who is not part of the political class may perform the normal functions of life–worship, meeting friends, going to the store, going to a restaurant, going to a game or a show, running a business, working a job, leaving one’s house…anything
     • only by prior permission from the authorities, and
     • only under the specific restrictions placed on the citizens by the authorities, under threat of arrest or economic ruin or both.
   • With covid and without government shutdown orders, life would have stayed very similar to normal, free America.

   We must all stop repeating this lie we’ve been taught to repeat, mindlessly, by the progressives.

   I saw a reference today to the economic damage COVID-19 has done.  Of course, the virus has caused very little economic damage; it’s government edicts that have ruined the economy.

   I wish we knew if any, and how many, Ricochet members don’t know this. I think we would find it is a relatively small number.

   Here in Virginia today Governor Coonman deigned to release us peasants from some of his benevolent edicts. As of Monday, restaurants and bars can serve booze until midnight instead of 10 PM, and outdoor “gatherings” can be held with up to a massive number of 25 people. Indoor “gatherings” are still limited to 10.

   All hail our supreme leader!!

   I forgot where I read this but someone suggested the end of the restrictions would happen when the vast majority simply stop complying.  We are awfully close around here.  My wife and I were restocking on bird seed after Texas Snowmageddon and noticed that 3/4 of the customers in Tractor Supply weren’t wearing masks.  Our local greasy spoons are all ignoring the edicts completely and no one makes a fuss.  One place had a single complaint and the owner said “you don’t have to eat here”. We are on the cusp of complete non compliance.

   You are absolutely right.

   i know more stores, small shops and restaurants in my small area that have been forced – by the government – to close than I know people that have even had Covid.

   I spent time in central Boston last weekend and was the only unmasked person all day.  What a bunch of pu$$ies are my fellow Baystaters.   We need more noncompliance!  Let ten thousand scofflaws (scoff-edicts?) bloom!
