Toxic Traits of Masculinity
The more obvious explanation from any outside analysis is that there seems to be a move less intended to improve men than to neuter them, to turn any and all of their virtues around on them and turn them instead into self-doubting, self-loathing objects of pity. It looks, in a word, like some type of revenge.
– Douglas Murray, The Madness of Crowds
The modern attack on males has been proceeding for a long time. It seemed to have receded to some degree, and I suspect that there are reasons for these attacks to seem to be disappearing.
They’re not.
In fact, I propose that the men-hating feminists who have tried to neuter men have had a great deal of success in making their points. Few people are willing to contest their arguments that men are aggressive and competitive because they are; in the right amounts, these attributes are needed to create balance and contrast in the world. If you candidly ask men if the hatred of men is alive and well, they will often reassure you that it is. Many men avoid being alone, even briefly, with any woman. Male coaches of female teams are alert to how their actions may be reasons for lawsuits. Male managers and supervisors have become paranoid about innocent comments or feedback to employees that could be construed as hateful or sexist. On university campuses, young men are determined to be guilty of raping women even before the evidence has been reviewed. (Although Betsy DeVos tried to change federal rules regarding these actions, it’s likely that the Democrats will try to reverse those steps.) Men may no longer be needed to make babies. In black families, fathers are often absent, to the detriment of the children, particularly boys.
I also wonder if, due to the hatred of the male sex, medical steps will be taken to ensure that boys at birth are identified as girls on their birth certificates. With medical ethics flapping in the wind, the discussion of selecting the gender of one’s child will probably be up for discussion.
Why is this a critical discussion to have in these times? Because, in spite of the Left’s insistence that men and women are the same, they are not. Biologically, intellectually, emotionally, physically and in so many ways, both sexes make their own unique contributions to the world.
Isn’t it fascinating that the Left, which worships diversity, tries to characterize men and women as the same, and that “sameness” is good for the world? If we are the same, then why does the Left expend so much energy denigrating and humiliating men?
If we want men to be appreciated, then we women must speak up and celebrate them. If the men try to speak for themselves, they risk being shamed and discounted by angry women. I still can’t figure out why women are seeking revenge against men.
Let’s remember that our world simply will not survive without men.

Amen. (Am I still allowed to say that?)
;)
On my post, you’re allowed to say it!! Thanks, Hank.
Susan, why did you use my picture without my approval?
Aw, PH, you’re so much cuter than he is . . . aren’t you?
Oh, I love this one, Percival! Well done, good sir!
If Men and Women are equivalent, with no difference, why does it make a difference that Bruce Jenner became Caitlyn Jenner? Trans-women tend to be ultra-feminine, wearing pink dresses and girlish hair. Why would gender imbalance in the workforce matter?
Exactly, Omega. Grrr…..
Almost every single dirty job needed for our civilization to run is performed by men. Those men are hated by the Men and Women who run things. Indeed, to the people who run things, if they could push a button, all those working men would vanish.
When they’ve worked with us, I bless them every day. The world would be chaos without them! Actually, I don’t fully agree, Bryan. There are lots of women out there doing dirty jobs in construction, the oil business and other tough jobs. It’s great to live in a country where they can do that!
And I say again. And again and . . . you get the drift. Over the past 25 years I have worked chiefly with people, mostly young, who were in the deepest possible trouble. I would necessarily get to know the family history of nearly all of them. Of all the cases I worked on, would you like to know how many came from an intact household? One. And there were major issues in that one. The common denominator was the absence of a father. A real father. The XY type. If there is no difference between the sexes, then why can’t a mother, or two, turn out healthy children who learn how to be adults?
I was the runner up in the Mr. Limburger Contest. They said my bathing suit act stunk but not enough.
Great point, quietpi
Maybe we stop doing those dirty jobs.
Men invent most of the things, make most of the things, and break most of the things. We do it, for the most part, to get women. I’m totally okay with that.
Susan,
I don’t want you to take this the wrong way, but I don’t need women to celebrate me.
I don’t know about the oil business, but in 45 years in the construction industry, I’ve known exactly three women who worked in the sweaty end of the business.
I think he’s gnawing on her hand. ‘Course, I doubt he has any teeth, so it’s probably not dangerous.
It should be…
Nope.
Uh, ladies? I’ll take whatever Randy doesn’t want. Just saying.
There is one immutable fact of life. The dirty jobs have to get done. The elites throughout history have forgotten this often. It always comes back to bite them. It is actually probably at the root of why communism is always doomed to fail. No one thinks about the dirty jobs. The only reason to do them is for the money. If you can’t over compensate someone for it, it won’t get done or it won’t get done efficiently. When the dirty jobs don’t get done the society crumbles away.
It is only in western cultures that masculinity is devalued. China is in a demographic death spiral because the one child policy has lead to a lack of women. Fundamentalist Islam also values men over women. I suspect that what we are really seeing is the preparation for the next phase of the project which is the destruction of the west. I doubt very much the feminists that started the project will like the final chapter.
I was thinking about this today, and considered writing my own post if I had time, but there’s a definite link between the lack of sexual desire across the spectrum (from teens to married folks) and this emasculation. How many women want to have sex with emasculated men? It’s against all evolutionary biology.
So very true, Bethany! I guess there are women who are attracted to feminine men, but I don’t get that at all.
As a man, I rather resent a culture that is all about the self-actualization of women. Women are far more likely to be able to take a fulfilling but low paying job because someone else is the primary breadwinner. If a Man does that, he is a deadbeat. If a woman does that, good for her.
Speaking of dirty jobs, it’s getting more and more difficult to recognize our military these days because of the push to eradicate that “toxic masculinity”. Of course, there are occasional humorous byproducts. It seems that the Army’s first female Green Beret almost killed her next door neighbor while practicing her quick draw.

Women are going to miss the so-called “toxic men” when the truly toxic men come around (Vladimir Putin wanna-bes, ISIS types, etc.)
Two kid anecdotes:
One of my son’s finest moments in high school (15 years ago) was standing up on a school bus to defend a Muslim girl who was being bullied (the male bullies were ridiculing her modest clothing).
When I first learned our daughter was dating the guy who is now our son-in-law, I asked her what stood out about him, and she immediately responded with, “He’s chivalrous. “
I love both of those! Your son must have been quite the young man to do that, and your daughter is one very smart woman!
