Missing Person Alert for Presidential Candidate…

With the avalanche of evidence coming out about Joe Biden’s corruption, I wondered how CNN would attempt to put a positive spin on such negative information about their candidate. I went to CNN.com, and found the home screen pictured at right. (I love the neutral, non-partisan, nothing-but-the-facts headline.) I then scrolled all the way down through their entire homepage, and I found Trump’s picture seven times, all in negative stories like, “New York Times:  Tax records show Trump had over $270 million in debt forgiven after failing to repay lenders” and “Acosta asks Trump:  Did you blow it on COVID-19?”  and “Anderson Cooper:  We are witnessing dishonesty the likes of which no one has seen before” and so on and so on. There is a picture of an angry Barack Obama (“Obama slams Trump…”). There are also stories about wildfires, Borat, Jamie Foxx’s sister, the Supreme Court, the former king of Belgium, matte lipstick, BLM protests, and so on and so on.

And absolutely zero stories about Biden. There are no pictures of and no articles about Joe Biden or Kamala Harris anywhere on the home page of CNN. Mr. Biden is running for president of the United States. Leader of the free world. The election is in six days. You might think that he might be in the news. No. He’s not mentioned.  Nothing positive. Nothing negative. Just nothing. Nothing at all. CNN apparently feels that there is only one person running for president. And he is very, very bad. And that is all you need to know.

This is surreal.

With fewer people in airports these days, I guess the only people who watch CNN are the Democrat true believers. So this striking cognitive dissonance may go unnoticed by many of their viewers.

Still, CNN viewers must be wondering,

“Presuming the evil Trump loses, I wonder who our president will be? I wonder what that person’s qualifications are, and what they believe in? I wonder what their policies will be, and who will be in their cabinet? I wonder how their beliefs differ from President Trump’s? I wonder what they look like?”

If you get your news from CNN, you wouldn’t know.

Joe Biden’s campaign hasn’t exactly been a high-profile affair, but with a little investigative reporting, CNN could probably at least find out who he is and what his plans are. Maybe he has a website or something.

Or maybe CNN actually does know who Biden is. And maybe they don’t want you to know.

Maybe CNN is not a news organization at all, giving us all the news that’s fit to print. Maybe they have other motivations besides reporting facts.

Just maybe…

I have lots of friends who watch CNN because they consider it to be a neutral, unbiased source of information.

    I find this incredible.

    I don’t understand.

One previous Oval Office occupant was of the opinion that any coverage was good coverage and your post illustrates it: Trump living rent free in the minds of everyone at CNN. With his name all over the website, there is no room to boost enthusiasm for the… you know, the thing.

My cousin’s husband is one of them. We are in a new era in this country where the media is no longer the media even though they hold a  lot of power. The same goes with social media, and the cancelling and locking people out of their accounts by Twitter and Facebook. Very powerful elements do not want another Trump presidency and are willing to throw away everything good and decent – what our Founders created, and wars were fought for, to get their way. This is new territory for all of us and it happened very quickly. We can’t let it happen.

It has always been known that a generic candidate beats a specific candidate.  Thus, Trump has always trailed a generic DNC candidate in polling.  It was assumed that would change when a specific nominee was selected.  A specific nominee has a opinions and history that will be negatives to some people.   Biden is attempting to remain a generic candidate and it can only work, because the media lets him by not asking him questions and hyping up the Covid fear that Joe uses an excuse to not campaign.

It appears no one cares. No one wonders who would be president if Trump loses. From commentary (both “professional” and “average person on the street”) it matters not what the policies of the other guy are – they could be the policies of Kim Jong Un or of Xi Jinping or of Vladimir Putin, and it just wouldn’t deter them from “Trump must lose.”

After the debate, those CNN talking heads all making fun of trump because none of their readers were familiar with anything Trump was saying…

We need a meme of them saying something like “all our viewers are asking who is that man debating Trump? None of our readers have even heard of Biden”.

Biden’s absence on the CNN site is so bizarre! Nothing! Did they make a concerted effort to leave him off the site? Was it an oversight? Did they think negative focus on Trump was enough to get people to vote for Biden. Too weird . . .

I do. Leftists don’t understand that they are leftists. They think leftism is the neutral. Jonah Goldberg explained this pretty well in his second book.

Trump’s foes are formidable. As @drbastiat  has written, the entire press is against him. They publish and sensationalize every negative rumor about him and our country they can find or invent, and they somehow manage to completely ignore every negative allegation about the Bidens. Scanning the front pages of the various news organizations is alarming.

Perhaps what is really on the ballot this year is the Truth. I hope it wins.

The weird thing is that if the Dems manage to win the election for Biden, there will be no constituency to push back against the Trumpsters.  There will be a TEA Party 2.0 and a lot of ignorant Biden voters will be sympathetic.   When people in the Northeast realize Joe is talking about their home heating oil subsidies they will be very unhappy.  Baby it’s cold outside.

Despite my earlier comment that many voters don’t care (they’d vote for Kim Jong Un before they’d vote for Donald Trump), I didn’t really believe you that a “news” site would have no articles about one of the presidential candidate.

So I looked. I haven’t looked at CNN for years. Today they do have “Biden” in one headline – on an article about how Biden could accumulate 270 votes in the electoral college. But, no substantive articles about Biden (or Harris). Lots of hate toward Trump, but not even any “Republicans pounce” articles on the ethics accusations against Biden. Totally ignore one of the candidates for United States President a week before the election.

I’d make a joke linking to the “Whoever Courageously Leads Us to Wherever” post by @drbastiat (oh, that’s also your post!) and “Who is that masked man?”, but CNN readers may not even know that the masked man exists.

Twain may have said something close, but it (and variations on it) had been around for a long time.

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.

    — Johnathan Swift, The Examiner No. XIV, 1710

That one is my favorite, because Swift also works in l’esprit de l’escalier.

Not only  is our media, including our social media big wigs,  focused on having Trump lose, things are moving at a pace most of us cannot keep up with.

Consider this: Whether the following is happening as a distraction or simply as a way to compete with Bill Gates being the Emperor of the world, we now must face the fact that Mark Zuckerberg went before Congress on Oct 23rd, not only to answer complaints about his organization, but also to explain his decision to create a bitcoin-styled monetary system run  by Facebook!!
