Artificial Deadlines?

Here is a quote Retchin’ Gretchen Whitmer made in a TV interview:

“Michigan will be able to announce results, but we are not going to have artificial deadlines set by, you know, people with political agendas,” Whitmer said. “It will be soon after polls close. I’m not going to put a number on it, but we’re going to get it right.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t the deadlines written into election law?  They’re hardly arbitrary…

If Whitmer had simply said they might not get the votes counted as quickly due to the virus, it would have made more sense.  However, given her dictatorial behavior during Michigan’s lockdown and her general arrogance, one might surmise she intends to slow down the counting.  This would put the results of the election on hold, especially if other states delay getting their results.  Then there are lawsuits.

Her statement is as arrogant as Biden’s “Don’t Deserve to Know” comment.

people with political agendas,” Whitmer said.

Said the person with no political agenda, we got it.

People are starting to understand laws are arbitrary guidelines enforced or disregard by those in power when it is useful.

So we have heard a constant drumbeat from the left for a number of years that voter ID laws suppress voting, yet results show that clearly not to be the case. If it’s so important, why not insist people get their votes in on time, whatever the method? Same day registration is an abomination, and just one more leftie ploy to cheat.

“Artificial”? No, there’s a hard deadline set. Moving it is “artificial.”

    I hate Democrats.

Impressive how the (D) can get these Hard Left wingnuts quietly elected(ie: Whitmer, Evers, Lighfoot, etc.) and only after they are in office does the voter get to discover their true Leftist extremism.

I don’t have a problem with what she said. I just don’t trust her.

It will be interesting to see if recall efforts for Tony Evers and Gretchen Whitmer go anywhere.

Plus once the Dems are voted in to the degree that the Secretary of State is Dem, the electorate will find that it is almost impossible to have honest elections after that point in time.

It really truly is about who counts the votes.

I think the democrat Governor, AG, and Secretary of State need some time to determine how many democrat votes they need to create after the polls close.

The same thing happened (after the fact) in the 2000 election and subsequent recounts in Florida. There was a date certain for the deadline for the results and the Democrats squealed “that’s arbitrary” like 8-year-olds objecting to a 9:00 PM bedtime.

Yeah, it’s arbitrary. Lots of things are arbitrary. Grow up.

That was how the famous 2010 Wisconsin Supreme Court Election Prosser(R) vs Kloppenburg(D) was decided which was essentially a referendum on then Governor Scott Walker.

The Deputy County Clerk of Waukesha “inadvertently” did not electronically submit the results from heavily (R) Brookfield thereby making the late night result appear to be thousands of votes closer than the actual result.   Thereby making the corrupt (D) cheaters Kloppenburg side believe they only had to “find” thousands less than they actually needed.

Cheating is much more of a challenge when you don’t know how many votes you need to beat your opponent.

One of the elections when I was a kid involve Cook County and what are referred to as the “collar counties.” Cook County was dominated by Democrats and the counties surrounding it by Republicans. The Cook County election results were late  as usual. This time, the collar counties were late too. The Democrats got what they wanted but it was a close-run thing.

Hey! Just a quick question… Is the deadline to file your taxes artificial and arbitrary?

I am pretty sure that anyone ignoring that deadline will get into trouble.

That was the Democrats’ problem in 2018. How can they steal it and not look like the election was stolen?

At midnight, all the votes were counted in Democrat Milwaukee County, and Scott Walker was ahead. Then 50,000 ballots suddenly appeared in Milwaukee County and that put Tony Evers over. Except Milwaukee County claimed it had already been counted. Oh my! I guess we forgot to count 50,000 votes!

Sure. I believe that. And the Democrats learned that they can blatantly steal an election and nobody will stop them.

Wisconsin is lost already. The Democrats have already been illegally ballot-harvesting for two weeks now, right out in the open, and nobody’s stopping them. They’re getting bins full of Biden votes ready to discover on Election Day.

Not anyone.  Just those not in power, I doubt those in power do more than pay lip service too it.
