A Time for Mourning

When a peaceful protestor was recently shot dead by a member of Antifa, the news was spotty at first. The reports went out that it was an Antifa member who was killed, and the left-wing crowds gathered to riot. Instead, the news was clarified that an Antifa member killed a Trump supporter. The Antifa members were proud. They said the man deserved it for being a “Fascist,” and that murdering him was merely, “taking out the trash.”

The Antifa member who murdered him fled across state lines. Federal Marshals attempted to arrest him. He did not comply, and fired at the Marshals. They returned fire, and now he is dead. Let us not make the same mistake Antifa made. Yes, he was a violent man and an assassin who died violently resisting arrest. He did not have to die, but he chose to resist arrest with a firearm. It was his choice. It was a bad choice. We can acknowledge these truths without celebration. We can be better than to say something similar to what Antifa members said about his victim.

Instead, let us acknowledge that a man is dead. He has no more ability to learn the lessons of this life. He has no ability to repent or make up for wrongs to others he may have committed in this life. His choices did not take him down a constructive path.

Let our choices, even in this moment, be better.

For Whom the Bell Tolls
John Donne

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend’s were.
Each man’s death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

I wish the guy was alive and spouting his nutty revolutionary ideas during his trial. Now the unmoored media will attempt to redefine him into a martyr who was killed after previously defending lives of others on the streets.

    Correct.

You guys have not been paying attention for the last 10 years.

He would have been cleaned up and coached up by his top Soros funded legal team.  He would be getting softball interviews from the MSM.  Meanwhile they would be smearing the sh#t out of the kid he murdered , and we would be treated to endless “exposes” and “investigative reports: on the Far Right, Alt right, NeoFascist movement.

Finally his trial would be a circus, and what are the odds a Portland jury wouldn’t have at least one person who would refuse to convict him and we would watch him either walk or get a slap on the wrist.  And when he did get out he would suddenly be on the lecture circuit or book writing tour or have an academic appointment at some fine Temple of Higher Education.

Better this way.  He died being what he is, a nasty murdering thug.

At this point, I think we can consider Portland — and Oregon — to be in a state of insurrection against the U.S. government. They have already essentially seceded.

Satan wants me to hate those who oppose me politically;  Satan wants those who I oppose politically to hate me.   Strangely; Soros, Russia and China all want us to hate each other also.   I am greatly tempted to hate Democratic & Progressive voters;   I know that Jesus does not want me to hate them.   I do succumb to hating the Democratic leaders — the Whitmers, Nessels, Bidens,  Pelosis, McCains,  Schumers etc.   But that also is a sin,  I should pray for their souls.

We all need to emulate Jesus and Ronald Reagan.   Do what is right,  cheerfully , without hatred.  Fight for what is right, but with pity and love for those who hate us.

I will not mourn a man who would just as likely kill me and everyone in this thread.  He is not a threat any longer, and his death was from his stupidity.

Antifa is our enemy like ISIS was

There’s no doubt about it. But it has nothing to do with the original premise. Yes, this particular human being was a murderous POS, as you say. What’s worse is he is part of an organization filled with more of the same. This is not about him. This is about us. We need to make better choices.

Even his immediate family isn’t moved to mourn.

Apparently it was his sister who turned him in after recognizing him in photos/video of the shooting incident.  Good for her!
