House Impeaches President Trump on 2 Articles

Wednesday evening, the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives impeached President Donald Trump for “abuse of power” and “obstruction of Congress.” Both were related to his dealings with Ukraine. He is the third American president to be impeached.

If and when the House forwards the articles to the GOP-controlled Senate, the president faces a near-certain acquittal. Neither result comes as a surprise since Democrats began promising impeachment before Trump was even inaugurated.

No Republicans voted to impeach. Every Democrat voted for the first article except Reps. Jefferson Van Drew (NJ) and Collin Peterson (MN). For the second article, Rep. Jared Golden (ME) joined Van Drew and Peterson to vote against. Independent Rep. Justin Amash (MI) voted for each article, while presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard (D–HI) voted present on both.

As the House voted, Trump enjoyed a packed Christmas rally at an arena in Battle Creek, MI.

    This guy is really smart.

Pelosi would completely freak out. lol

Or once could ask the Supremes to decide – they love meddling.

There was a thought that Clinton carrying on with an intern would easily open him up to blackmail from enemies. It was a very different time, and some might say a more innocent time.

I thought then, and still think today, that the Supreme Court made a huge mistake when they allowed the Paula Jones civil lawsuit to proceed. Not only did it open up the whole sexual mess, but it also meant that future presidents could be sued when in office forcing them to take valuable time and resources away from the presidency.

It seems to me that if Democrat Presidents (Kennedy, Johnson, Clinton) have time enough to bed or chase that many women, their time is not that valuable, and their resources are not being applied well anyway.

The Founders knew that if it turned into a political weapon it would be a disaster.

If it isn’t likely that you will get 2/3 of the senators due to public support, it should be left as oversight in one of the committees so they can turn it into political hay for the next election. That is what the Founders intended.

The Republicans are accusing the Democrats of using it as a political weapon. The Democrats are accusing the Republicans of being political by not voting for it. If you can’t get 2/3 of the senators it has to stay as oversight with the goal of censure to use in the next election.

I’m seeing that Jonah Goldberg is taking the opposite position to enforce “better behavior” in all presidents. I think this is a terrible idea. They have to be very careful about what they leave for the next election or not.

I got a lot of that from listening to last night’s Mark Levin Show. It’s a little dry so be advised. The podcast is always free.

The problem with this logic is that the Democrats and their media wanted to impeach President Trump before he even before he took a single breath in office. It had nothing to do with him “acting like a jackass” and everything to do with Democrats crying over spilt milk and behaving like teenagers after losing an election. That goes for the NeverTrumpers as well. More frequent use of impeachment because the House doesn’t like the President (of an opposite Party, of course) is nothing but an act of destruction.

Two kooks got on to twitter…

The other thing these guys are doing, is that they are getting all excited about Walsh and Weld getting on the ballot. Both of those guys are a mess. They make Trump look like Harry Truman. If it was Sanford I would understand.
