Serial Seppuku in the Capital
In all my many years of watching politics, I have never seen so many people so absolutely convinced of something where the facts support the exact opposite conclusion. The Democrats are literally screaming for Trump’s removal for a myriad of so-called high crimes and misdemeanors while the facts show none of their accusations are valid. The Ukraine aid was released, meetings were not denied and Zelinskyy never initiated any investigation nor promised to do so.
The actual transcript of the so-called incriminating conversation mentions no conditions on aid or assistance; in fact, it does not mention any assistance or aid at all. Zelisnkyy said he never felt pressured by Trump and did not know that the aid had been even delayed at the time of the call. There were five high-level meetings between US and Ukraine officials subsequent to the initial call and not once was any condition mentioned regarding the forthcoming aid.
The only “fact” witness who had any direct dealing with President Trump was Ambassador Sondland, and he made it clear that he just assumed there were conditions. Trump never once told him, in fact no one ever told him, that the aid was conditioned on an investigation of the Bidens. Sondland just assumed. And when he asked President Trump about this directly; that is “what did he [President Trump] want from Ukraine?” Trump said, “I want nothing. I want nothing. There is no quid pro quo.”
And yet the Democrats maintain their death-hold on the allegation that Trump demanded dirt on the Bidens in exchange for aid. Quite frankly, this entire ordeal likely bodes the end of the Biden candidacy (RIP) as it casts sunshine on Hunter Biden’s sweet dealings in Ukraine, Romania, and China. The more daylight Hunter receives, the more he looks like a corrupt rent seeker, a fraud, eager to sell out America for his fortune. And that does not reflect well on dad, the well-honed persona of everyman, blue-collar Joe.
Have they forgotten that the US Senate is controlled by the opposition? A Senate trial could prove very damaging to those who engineered the Russia hoax, the Hillary dismissal, the surveillance of the Trump campaign, and the so-called House Intelligence investigation. Imagine a damaging inspector general report, a thorough Senate trial and acquittal, and a devastating Durham investigation.
This will not be a good election year for Democrats; worse yet for their deep state allies and their cronies in the press.

Anyone’s mind changed yet?
Let me see if I got this right. You hide behind a pseudonym. You say that you are a physician, but to paraphrase Trump, you could actually be a 400 pound man (or I guess woman) sitting in your bed in your mother’s basement, going on the internet to “investigate” someone who you can’t beat on the field of the battle of ideas. When I have the audacity to defend myself from slurs, you attack me personally, and accuse me of attacking you.
Just meet my arguments on the battlefield of ideas and avoid ad hominem attacks.
No, Peter and Rob made the rules, which are codified in our Code of Conduct, which includes civil conversations. I follow those rules. Please do so yourself, especially on the Main Feed.
No. Let’s all move on. I would much rather watch football.

.
I will take you up on that!
Blessings!
Football players remind me of hookers, in a way: They are in the business of ruining their bodies for the pleasure of strangers. Not something I care to watch. But it’s legal, so if you enjoy the game, watch all you want.
Gary is not going anywhere. His heavies have certain expectations.
This man sums up my opinions of Trump in language less florid than I use sometimes. I would like every Trump supporter to read if because the author has had a unique seat at the table watching this Presidency:

I strongly support the Durham investigation and have never indulged in “whataboutism” on these issues. The Republican Party was supposed to be the party of standards, the Democrats view rules, laws, and the Constitution as something for chumps. I do not like the fact that the Republican President has the ethics and character of Hunter Biden.
And with that, I will follow intelligent advice and leave this post. Good luck all.
George Conway is a terrible person who has spent the last couple years publicly insulting his wife (among others). He tells people that his wife is in a cult and he says the only way their marriage will survive is if she leaves her job. Awful human being. He was a nobody who was catapulted into the spotlight by the media who only value him for his insults about the President and his public abuse of his wife — who they hate. He spends his days trying to silence her and shame her. (Which to be honest, is pretty good currency with our horrible media.)
If you think Trump’s tweets are bad, but you think George Conway is worth listening to, I submit that you may wish to check for TDS.
LOL. You cut and pasting again?
I do. All the time. And like you do with everyone else you ignore their point and deflect. We all know the drill.
Funny I’ve never been banned, only received 1 or 2 reprimands. How about you?
You never called for Obama to be impeached. You just hate Trump.
Trump did no such thing. The transcript does not support it.
Trump has done nothing worthy of Impeachment.
To sit here, and demand the removal of the elected president, while you said nothing for 8 years of Obama. Please. Don’t claim you are objective. You never called for the removal of the last guy, who did far worse, just with the Iran deal.
You are blinded by your hate of Trump. Non Trump supporters don’t think he should be impeached. Your political God, Reagan, traded arms for hostages. Got anything to say on that, @garyrobbins? Hmmm? Iran-Contra? Hmmm?
Of course you don’t.
George Conway was considered for a couple of posts in DJT’s administration. IIRC, he was under consideration for Solicitor General and an Assistant AG post. I don’t know if he actively campaigned for either post.
He was passed over for both positions. Perhaps that has something to do his vitriol for Mr. Trump. It has to be at least a contributing factor.
All I can say is that marital bedroom has to be like a walk in freezer.
Did I miss where Trump got kicked out of the military for cocaine use? Or that he had meth in a rental car?
Did he have sex with his brothers widow? Father a child with a stripper?
Did he have Daddy the Senator get him a consulting position with MBNA Bank? Or on the board of AMTRAC because he “rode trains a lot”?
Did he go with his dad the VP on Air Force 2 and have a sweet deal for millions from the Chicoms when dad was there “negotiating”?
Did he have his dad the VP get him a sweet deal for 83K a month for being on the board of a Ukrainian gas company, where a member of the board the former Polish president said he got the job “because of his fathers influence”?
Trump is no saint. We get it. He’s been a cutthroat business man his whole life. He’s had affairs.
What he hasn’t done is any of the vile things Hunter Biden has done, while getting rich on graft his entire life by sticking like a leech to his dad who has had his snout in the public trough since the 1970’s.
See, this is the kind of hyperbole about Trump that gets flung around here, and you guys are surprised when we push back.
Don’t bring up Donald Trump’s dad, @kozak. For quite awhile @garyrobbins noted with every mention of Trump that DJT’s father died of alzheimers …
Early onset Alzheimers has a major hereditary component. Late onset is more a combination of environment and and lifestyle with a minor genetic component. Trump clearly is past he age for early onset. ( but what would I know I could just be pretending to be an MD).
And Trump with Alzheimers is preferable to any of the Democrats current or potential candidates.
Meanwhile in the real world Democrats are guilty of every single thing they accused Trump of.
Under Obama, there was no military aid at all to Ukraine. They were expected to throw MRE’s and blankets at Russian invaders. Meanwhile Biden brags about with holding loan guarantees unless Ukraine fires it’s investigator of his Son’s company.
And the ambassador to Ukraine tries to stop multiple investigations.
As VDH points out today:
https://amgreatness.com/2019/12/08/the-legacy-of-low-bar-impeachment/
You forgot Benghazi and Fast and Furious, especially the Benghazi cover-up. Had Trump been president when these scandals occurred, the Dems would be sharpening the guillotine placed at the top of the Capitol steps.
And yet, Gary did not call for Obama to be inpeached and removed from office. Strange
The only flaw I see in VDH’s thinking is that he assumes a Republican House would play dirty with a Democrat President. We have years of evidence that says they wouldn’t. They barely raised a fuss over Obama’s multiple crimes. So while the Dems might rue this legacy, I’m positive that the low bar they set would only be a problem for Republican presidents.
One congressman yelled “you lied”, and it was a crisis.
When he did lie. Repeatedly.
Depends on how, dare I say it, Trumpian, they are.
What you are talking about Drew is a big part of why we got Trump in the first place.
