Whoever This Guy Is, We Like Him
A moment ago, shortly after the momentous Auburn-Georgia game ended and Fox News started up, I looked up momentarily from my Ricochet terminal, and saw and heard somebody being interviewed by Mark Levin.
I commented to the Brown-eyed Beauty, “Whoever this guy is, we like this guy.”
Kate, whom G_d assigned to follow those goings-on that I’m congenitally unable to follow (politics, people’s names, events, time, space, the future, money, reality…you know, stuff like that) said, “It’s Donald Trump, Jr.”
I don’t know what to say, except that this show made an impression on me. Even though I don’t follow this stuff (politics, reality, and so on) I walked right over to the betting window and put two dollars down on Donald Trump, Jr.
Just now, the Brown-Eyed Beauty gave me a reality update. There was so much, so fast. This guy is dating Kimberly (my mind drifts off course, as it always does when I think about Kimberly) and they were both on “The View,” and Joy Behar was shocked that Trump remembered that she, Joy, had herself appeared in blackface.
If you want to know about details, talk Kate into subscribing and writing an article.
I am just telling you one thing, the big picture.
We will hear about this Trump guy sometime in the future if he doesn’t get hit by a bus. Not that Trump. This other Trump.

Jr. is a cultural warrior. Talk is that he would run for governor of Florida in the future.
Then I am tempted to move to Florida, just to have a chance to vote for him.
(If we do, at some point, decide to make the move, does anyone have some land in that state which he or she would like to sell us?)
Trump jr 2024.
I am leery of this idea – I haven’t been terribly pleased with the scion presidents we’ve had, and a lot of names bandied for the future flat out depress me.
“Even though I don’t follow this stuff (politics, reality and so on) I walked right over to the betting window and put two dollars down on Donald Trump, Jr...”
You have always had a gift for turning a phrase, Mark.
A lot of the names bandied about for the future, especially scion names, depress me, too. So much so that, if I’d known the name of the gent who was talking with such energy and perspicacity, or that whoever was talking was some scion, I have tuned him right out.
I saw it too. He did great.
Nikki Haley in 2024. Jr can wait til 2032. He’s young enough.
My fear is dad isn’t young enough to wait for 2032, and given a choice between possible candidates like Haley, Pence, Hawley, Cruz or a few others, will go to the mat for Don Jr. to succeed him in office (or to replace some Democrat in office, if Trump loses next November, since win or lose, he’s not going away and will still have a huge base of supporters either way in the party).
He was great on the Dave Ruben podcast. Also Adam Corolla’s.
I’ve soured on Haley. She feels phony.
I have a heard a few interviews with her, because of the book tour. I was not impressed. She didn’t have good answers to hard questions. She didn’t offer anything aspirational. She should study her promotional website StandForAmericaNow.com
