Age Reassignment

I’ve been waiting for this, since it was clearly inevitable: a 69-year-old man in the Netherlands is petitioning to have his birth date legally changed, making him 20 years younger. And his case is being heard.

Ratelband says his legal appeal is consistent with other forms of personal transformation that are gaining acceptance and government recognition in the Netherlands and around the world.

“With this free(dom) of choice, choice of name, freeness of gender, I want to have my own age. I want to control myself,” he said Thursday.

No one should be surprised by this. It is absolutely consistent with, and no sillier than, “changing” one’s gender (or pretending not to have one). There have always been people who want to pretend to be someone other than who they are, and in general that is harmless; but now those people are increasingly trying to force others to play along with their pretense.

Well, let me be the first to open a new frontier: I have decided that my true identity is that of a billionaire. It’s not my fault that I was born without huge piles of money. From now on, I want everyone to treat me like an extremely wealthy person. Including my bank.

Going to check my balance now….

Clerk: “I need to see Yer ID.”

15 year old Patron: “Did You just assume My age? That’s age discrimination! I identify as a 22 year old. To prove it, I just voted democrat, too.”

I, personally, self-identify as a slab-sided Dutch-build bugger boat.  My personal pronoun is HMS — pronounced Himz — and my personal possessive is HMS’s — pronounced him’-zez.

If Pelosi and the democratic socialists have their way, we’ll all be billionaires within the next two presidential cycles… thanks to hyper-inflation.

Mrs. Tex and I were discussing recently how we hoped to not suffer from Alzheimer’s.  I noted that one upside would be that perhaps I would remember that I had been an Olympic champion or world famous personality.  Basically just as valid as this dude’s delusions.

When my daughter was in college fake IDs were easy to obtain. At Christmas she and my 79 year old uncle were at our house for dinner. My uncle asked her if she could get him a fake drivers license making him 69. It seems he had a ticket for the British Open and he need to be under 70 to rent a car in GB. She fixed him up.

Is age reassignment the thing that Pelosi keeps having surgery and Botox for?

How long until the Democrat controlled House discovers this is an easy way to get “Medicare for all?”

Heh, I could go for a second shot at grade school.  Or high school, for that matter.

    I wrote about this before

It is fundamentally a rejection of reality – it is pretend.

Like I keep saying (my fifth post ever at Ricochet!), the slippery slope argument ain’t always a fallacy.

The guy who wants to do this appeared on film, just saw him on Fox, am pretty sure he is doing this as a lark and to highlight the insanity of the transgender movement. If that is the case, I am all for it.

Oh, I really hope that’s true. I can’t think of a single reason to reject his request that wouldn’t apply equally well to “transgender.” It would be fun to watch people trying to defend the one while rejecting the other.

I self-identify as a star NFL quarterback and demand that people treat me as such. I expect boys to worship me and hot young women to throw themselves at me.

Just remember to let the NFL know that you also expect the salary 🙂

I work at a private company that gives you a day off for your birthday.  Mine is in February.  There is nothing I want to do in the middle of winter, so I went to HR and asked if I could change by birthday to fall, during hunting season.  “No” was all she said.

That was the case I wrote about.  You can wear little girl clothes, even a diaper, play with dolls and watch My Little Pony.   Nothing changes what you are.

Ironically, most kids learn that pretending you are a princess or a pirate does not change the fact that you are a kid.  Are parents not teaching kids this?
