No! Just, No!

Sorry, but with all due respect to everyone trying to be respectful and even-handed, the Senate should not devote a single second, a tenth of a second, a microsecond, to the supposed charges against Brett Kavanaugh.

Line it up. Senator Feinstein has for over a month sat on an unsubstantiated 30-year-old allegation of teenage misconduct brought by a progressive activist against a respected jurist, and then brought it forward at the last minute in an attempt to stall the process and if not thwart the nomination, to smear the integrity of the nominee so that he is forever tainted.

Considering the circumstances, the burden of proof should be entirely on the accuser and her supporters. When the return on a successful lie is so high, the presumption should be that the accuser is lying. Until there is overwhelming proof not only of the instant allegation but a pattern of behavior, the Senate should adamantly refuse any consideration whatsoever.

Credit where due, Flake said if she doesn’t go through with testimony he will proceed

She will go through. She will also have evidence and maybe other witnesses. This is what the GOP gets for putting up an Ivy League frat boy with a drinking problem past. They should have played the game to win and put up a minority pick, that way they would have some minority cards to play. They even could avoided this entirely if they went with a womyn. It is like the GOP is trying to lose.

Well, if this happens, I will have to eat some crow.  I don’t think the crows need to worry, though.

She wants a complete FBI investigation before she’ll say anything.

    F’d_up_news_network:

The woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault says the FBI should investigate the incident before senators hold a hearing on the allegations.

In a letter addressed to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa, and obtained by CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” Christine Blasey Ford’s attorneys argue that “a full investigation by law enforcement officials will ensure that the crucial facts and witnesses in this matter are assessed in a non-partisan manner, and that the Committee is fully informed before conducting any hearing or making any decisions.”

The ball’s in your court, Flaky.

They’ve now made it an ultimatum.

That’s a wrap. Hold the hearings, let them boycott and then immediately hold the vote.

I agree. Hold the hearings as planned. Let Kavanaugh testify. Say something to the effect that since the accuser has decided not to show up, the vote will be taken immediately. Then vote. The Democrats don’t get to call the shots here.

Diane Feinstein should be publicly censured for this stunt. And the people of California should be made to pay my taxes in penance for foisting this horrible person on the rest of the nation year after year after year.

So should I vote for her opponent in November?  That would be Democrat Kevin De Leon who is challenging her from the left, key issues on his web site include Medicare for All, Gun Control, and Free Public Education (i.e. free college).

He can’t win, but I’m tempted to just to help put a scare into DiFi. Yet as the threat would just push her further left it’s probably a bad idea even as a protest.

It’s certainly telling that he won the endorsement of the California Democratic Party over a sitting Senator, no doubt you’re correct and that once she passes on he has a lock on that seat.

Watch out for the followup hit. If this accusation starts to sputter and fizzle, another allegation will be made. Money can buy plenty of lies from an idealogue.

And then there will be “a pattern of behavior”, which proves he must withdraw.

No. The Democrats will do this to anyone who holds Constitutional views similar to Judge Kavanaugh’s. The did it with a black man 27 or so years ago. If Trump nominated a Constitutionalist who happened to be a black female lesbian wiccan, the Democrats would still make up something with which to trash her.

I’m thinking that Ford’s attorney, Katz, may have missed a day or 2 of 1st year law when she said her client DID NOT NEED to corroborate her story— which leaves us with the fact that she demands, by inference, Kavanaugh prove a negative despite the presumption of his innocence.

I think the lawyer knows what she’s saying and doing.  Her audience is the general public, who probably do not understand the subtle details of the law.  They’ll believe whatever the lawyer says, because after all – she’s a lawyer.

In my opinion, the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation is a circular firing squad by 10 committee Democrats and their press co-conspirators, none of whom have any interest in whether the nominee is qualified to do the job — they know he is abundantly qualified and respected by his peers (including sitting SCOTUS justices).

In a very real sense the attempted assault is of Judge Kavanaugh:  his life’s work, his claim as a decent husband/father/humane individual are a lie and his reputation shot if he is guilty of what is accused by people who are not serious about truth or justice and not fit to wipe his shoes, let alone pass judgment.  There are witnesses to his character from homeless people to children he’s coached to his priest to co-workers/peers from grade school through the present whose line probably would stretch half a mile.  In stark contrast are the 10 Democrats conducting themselves and their version of politics with extreme prejudice and malice aforethought.

I was unaware until yesterday of what happened to Miguel Estrada’s family during the ordeal of his nomination.  Enough of Democrats and their soulless, depraved assault on everything good and decent in pursuit of power.
