Yep, all you have to do is make almost all immigration legal and the problem is solved.

    Glad you made that clear.

Too funny!  The point is, do it legally,  and there will be no question of separations from parents or pimps.

Democrat congresswoman complains that Trump’s ICE treats illegal immigrant as criminal …

The ignorance is strong with Rep. Velazquez.

The vast majority of people can’t get hear legally in their lifetime. The idea that all these people have to do is “wait in line” is fallacious.

Once again Michael Ramirez hits the nail directly on the head. Wonderful! The only unfortunate part it that his superb humor only registers with those of us already in the choir. The left really doesn’t care about immigration or any other red herring issue. All they want is to destroy Trump and his administration, not matter what he does. The pathology of their diseased thinking is fed by propaganda from the media more suited to a leftwing dictatorship in a banana republic than to the greatest democratic republic in history.

At some level I understand that the behavior of the left is indicative of their sense of total defeat, the actions of a rat trapped in a corner. However, the constant droning and throwing out of false narratives, and, now, that moron, Maxine Waters, inciting mobs against members of the administration seems a deliberate attempt to overthrow the rule of law.

To anyone who sees both sides of the problem. there is an obvious answer, simply disregard the propaganda, but because the media is so controlled by the left, few see anything but the lies, and those unchallenged. A reset will have to come, and I am afraid that as ugly as the current time is, that reset will be much worse.

As a matter of policy, should the vast majority of people be able to get here legally?

No one’s saying that everyone will get in legally. It’s just that, turns out, that’s the only legal way – legally. (Until the next amnesty work-around.)

Fine, then they just have to live somewhere else!  If they can’t come in legally, they can’t come in.  Period.

The vast majority of Americans don’t want them here. They want the current laws enforced. This is why Congress does not change the laws. They know they would get slaughtered at the next election, so instead, people like Chuck Schumer beg for a dictator with a pen to make it all better.

I’ve encountered plenty of cases where that’s true. But many more of us just think it’s far better for their own countries if they stay and fix the problems at home.

It’s better for both of us.

It’s better that we not be a quick fix because it doesn’t encourage a good ethic among those getting in.

It’s also better for them to have an incentive to fix the problems at home.

Even if it is, no one has an obligation to be trapped in the country they happened to be born in. I don’t think most people are racist, they’re just typical dehumanizers of the out group. But just because something is human nature doesn’t make it permissible.

I call it a victory just to have the goal posts moved. Enough of this crap that makes it seem like immigrants aren’t acting out of desperation because they don’t have another choice to meet their goals. Enough of this “get in line” when there is no line.

I wonder if the law was “anyone without a criminal record, affiliation with terrorism or hostile foreign government could come, live and work here as they will” if people would still say “I’m only against illegal immigration.”

Just like every other part of the world.

Unlike the left, I haven’t ever entertained the thought of leaving the US. Mainly because no other place on earth exists like here.

I’m done with immigration laws that fundamentally alter the US. And yes, that is exactly what happened every other time this has been done.

You want libertarianism? This is the exact opposite way of getting it. You should be far more in favor of ousting the lunatic left than bringing in more socialists.

I think you have a higher opinion of most Americans than I do. Most people are extreamly socialist, even on the right. The average immigrant is only moderately more socialist than the average American, and unlike most people I don’t have a problem not allowing them to vote. I’m indifferent to democracy and extending the vote, but people get all “Muh civic duty!” about it and end up using it as an excuse to keep people out.

If we let them in, we have to let them vote. No. We don’t. It’s much more evil to keep them out than to let them in and not give them the vote.

Ha ha… they are complaining about the lack of an alternative while standing in front of a building emblazoned with Legal Immigration.

I think the point is clear… the solution to separating families is to migrate legally.

    Ari,

Viable is an all-purpose word. Viable, humane, caring, sensitive. When it comes to immigration policy they all mean the same thing. Unlimited & unrecorded migrant entrance.

    Nothing less will do.

It’s clearly not up to meeting the demand of our own citizens for immigrant labor.
