A Stormy Affair

Kimmy Kimmel’s big “get” for the State of the Union, porn star Stormy Daniels, has issued a statement that she denies having had an affair with Donald Trump, not because she was paid, but because it didn’t happen.

Gee, what the hell are they going to talk about now?

Even if she did work for him in that capacity many years ago, I couldn’t care less. Here are my rules for Presidents.

    (1) Don’t rape, or have raped, anyone.

    (2) Don’t treat the White House like a brothel.

    (3) Stop sexually harassing people after you’re elected.

I’m not in the least surprised.  The story was supposedly exposed by Trump’s lawyer.  Until that lawyer gets disbarred, it’s simply not credible.

Yeah, she said it to cameras a couple weeks ago. Something like, “It didn’t happen. If it had happened, I wouldn’t deny it, you’d be reading about it in my book.” So with the page above, that’s two statements…both with crafty self-promotional messages. Well done, Stormy.

I guess some people need to see it in print? I don’t understand this at all.

Why do I suspect Trump’ll invite Stormy to the next SOTU?

KentForrester: I didn’t need cooling down, because I never thought classic burlesque was very sexy.

”Classic” burlesque? One time it was just the lowest level of vaudeville. When vaudeville gave way to radio in the 1930s burlesque they added the more risqué elements.

Our neighbor growing up was a fine upstanding member of the bar and partner in his law firm. Every Friday he took his lunch at the Esquire Theater,  where he took in the burlesque show and the kinds of movies that fine, upstanding adult men enjoy.

To all the people who lectured evangelicals that they’re hypocrites for supporting the President because “he paid off a porn star!” I’d like to note that gossip and slander are sins, too. And what has this all been but gossip and slander, anyway?

What kind of people would we be if we turned on someone innocent of wrongdoing the moment the gossip and slander appeared? And yet, that’s what so many are eager to do. And to call me a hypocrite for not joining in.

DrewInWisconsin, I don’t care what Trump was or wasn’t doing in 2006. But don’t you wonder why she was paid this money ?

Sorry, I’m just pissed off because, as usual, you hear of a scandal about the President, but then wait a few news cycles and the truth comes out and it didn’t actually happen. (Seems to be a regular thing over the last year.) But some people allegedly on our side (and contributors for this very site) are so eager to destroy this President that they immediately and unquestioningly accept the latest gossip because it speaks directly to their own biases.

And then they have the audacity to call me a hypocrite because I didn’t immediately fall for the same lie they did.

I suppose I need to forgive those people. But a little contrition on their part might help.

No. Never crossed my mind. Because I don’t trade in gossip. But that seems to be the currency of the pundit class.

I had lunch with a colleague today and he started reciting every proven wrong scandal.  I rely on him for many things in my business so I had to bite my tongue.  It’s just another example how mud slinging works.  How many people still think Catherine the great died underneath a horse?

edit: he recited them as though they were true.

Nobody got excited about JFK and Blaze Starr and Marilyn Monroe and and and.

Trump, like Charles Barkley, is not a role model. There was no role model on the ballot in 2016.

Welp! There goes the whole basis for this contentious thread.

Not sure. This guy I know told me about a movie in which Stormy lied to her husband about 16 affairs. I don’t think that she’s very trustworthy.

Yes, but if that’s the case, you would need to follow a paper trail and lacking one, this is a theory that has no evidence of any kind. The two who would have intimate knowledge of the affair both deny the affair and an under-the-table payment carried out by some bloke claiming he paid her is hearsay of a third party with no intimate knowledge of the affair… only a claim for a pay-off. There was a body-guard. You can figure out what to do with that.

Do we have a paper trail on the pay-off? Some unexplained financial windfall in Stormy’s bank account? Any way to get that without a criminal investigation and a subsequent warrant? Can private investigators gain access to her account legally?

She is an unreliable witness. There is an interview where the paper claims she said she had sex with him. If she keeps changing her story, though, you only have two unreliable witnesses.

    _______

Mr. Faulty, I wasn’t clear.  It was just porn imported from Tijuana.  It was so crudely drawn and featured comic book characters, though, that I suspect it was “consumed” mainly by kids.  I think I assumed that most men over 50 or so would have known what I was talking about.  Perhaps it was a Southern California thing.  It “starred” comic book characters like Popeye and Olive Oyl, Maggie and Jiggs (boy, that dates me), and Dagwood and Blonde.

I don’t think its your age. I know some of that stuff exists for Disney characters, too. And many dating from the 90s.

I stumbled upon some of it during the era of unsafe web searches. Man have they improved the functionality since then.

Stina, one of my favorite illustrators in my youth was Wally Wood.  To my mind, he was a truly great illustrator for the E.C. stable of comic books (which included Mad, The Vault of Horror, Tales from the Crypt, and others).

During his decline (he eventually committed suicide), he illustrated a pornographic two-page spread of the Disney characters having sex.  I think it appeared in Paul Krassner’s “Realist” magazine, but I’m not sure.

Wait a darn minute!  I thought the Media and the Never Trumpers told us this affair absolutely happened?

Didn’t Fred write a post questioning our integrity because we weren’t outraged as if it absolutely happened?

EJHill: Gee, what the hell are they going to talk about now?

    Several possible scenarios:

    1. They will claim Daniels was threatened by Trump’s privately funded secret police.
    2. They will say while Trump did not have a sexual encounter with Daniels in particular, the accusation is a representation of the kind of reprehensible man he is.
    3. Melania protested her husband’s affair by wearing white gloves (oh wait, they already did that).

Don’t worry, they’ll make up something and run with it . . .

All these gossipers seem to forget something. President Trump is an alpha male, tall, handsome (in his younger years) and rich. He would never need or want to pay for sex. I’ve seen photos of him, in the day, which gave me a little hiccup in my old age, and I would have been hard pressed to stay out of his bed, just for the joy of it. (provided we weren’t married at the time.) I simply do not believe he would have ever paid a hooker.
