Spicer Out at the White House

Spicer steps down:

Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, resigned on Friday morning, telling President Trump he vehemently disagreed with the appointment of the New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.

Mr. Trump offered Mr. Scaramucci the job at 10 a.m. The president requested that Mr. Spicer stay on, but Mr. Spicer told Mr. Trump that he believed the appointment was a major mistake, according to person with direct knowledge of the exchange.

Mr. Scaramucci, who founded the global investment firm SkyBridge Capital and is a Fox News Channel contributor, is known for his spirited on-air defense of Mr. Trump, but he also enjoys good relationships with journalists from an array of outlets, including those the president has labeled “fake news.”

What do you think of the move: good, bad, or neither?

How do we know of his vehemence?  Just curious.  Personalities always shake out a bit in new administrations, so I’m not vitally interested.  I like Spicer, though.

I liked him too, but I think he damaged himself coming out of the gate. I also think he wasn’t very good at the give and take, especially up against a hostile crowd. Not that anyone else could do better.

Really?  Are you being facetious?  He’ll do what everyone else does after they leave high status government jobs; He’ll get a multi-million dollar contract, from some network or other, to be yet another worthless pundit.

Rodney Dangerfield is hilarious.  But humor and good pizza are admittedly subjective.

The talking heads on CNN this afternoon had all good things to say about Scaramucci – for whatever that’s worth. I’m sure we’ll learn more about him. Spicer was beat up everyday, but Trump doesn’t wait to make changes – maybe in this case that’s a good thing.

No, not Sean Spicer, Sean Spicier. It was a twitter parody account.

Everyone’s gonna forget about this next week when Trump fires Bob Mueller. He should wait until the Friday before Labor Day, but he won’t.

Nobody will ever touch Stephen Early. He was the man who invented the position in the Franklin Roosevelt Administration. Served his boss all 12 years.

James Hagerty was the man who defined it for the modern age under Eisenhower. On day one he established his rules with the press:

”I would like to say to you fellows that I am not going to play any favorites, and I’m not going to give out any exclusive stories about the President or the White House.

”When I say to you, ‘I don’t know,’ I mean I don’t know. When I say, ‘No comment,’ it means I’m not talking, but not necessarily any more than that.

”Aside from that, I’m here to help you get the news. I am also here to work for one man, who happens to be the President. And I will do that to the best of my ability.”

What’s most hilarious about it is how many politicians and journalists think it’s the real Sean Spicer and expend a lot of pixels yelling at him.

I do like her style, yet I feel confident in saying that to many in the MSM, she is not an authentic woman, because Trump.

Interesting that Sean Spicer, while fitting perfectly in this Administration as a self-parody, was at least an actual Republican. On the other hand, Scaramucci, like the president, has historically been a Democrat donor.

I keep hearing this from the Nevers.  It is meaningless.

I am a pretty doggone conservative and I am a “Democrat donor.”  I know lots of solid Republicans who have given money to Democrat campaigns.

Sometimes you are helping in a primary, hoping for the most conservative who can win.   On occasion you may buy a ticket to a fundraiser dinner because you are looking for an opportunity to socialize with a potential client.  Other times you are just looking to get yourself onto a list of “friends” on account of you are going to need to do business at City Hall with the winner.

Can you point to some article that provides a rundown on Mr. Scaramucci’s political policy positions?

Just read his twitter. Oh wait, he deleted them.

    That’s okay, the internet remembers:

Gee, A. Scaramucci’s tweets are sort of discouraging.

Well, he supposedly was hired for his talent, knowledge and connections, and not so much for his politics, but he is going to bear watching.  This is the sort of nomination the Nevers told us to fear, and so far we have not seen much of.

Hopefully this is not an indication of things to come.
