Happy Anniversary, “Uncommon Knowledge!”
It was twenty-one years ago that Ricochet’s own Peter Robinson started Uncommon Knowledge, one of the best interview series there is. All I can say is… man, Peter, you have really let yourself go. I mean, dude!

At last, drinks before questions. Final question? No, final call.
You read my mind.
Like.
I got to go back and binge listen/watch all those interviews. How many are there?
Who is that young rake in the picture?
Congratulations. Peter!
Are you sure that’s him? There’s no sweater tied around his neck.
Happy anniversary to Uncommon Knowledge! Still a key course in my lifelong learning curriculum.
It was Uncommon Knowledge that led me to Ricochet. I was like what is that site they keep talking about?
Really? I dunno if this is compliment or insult but modern Peter Robinson looks like he puts this guy in headlocks and takes his lunch money.
Gotta check out Uncommon Knowledge and long live Rico.
Awesome. Happy anniversary
Peter who was that young kid who started UnCK? Congrats Peter!
Only problem with Uncommon Knowledge is there aren’t enough podcasts. I discovered both Berlinski’s, Charles Hill there and countless interviews with folks known but not known as well as one does after Robinson interviews them.
How come he doesn’t ride in on a motorcycle anymore? That’s what I miss.
One of the first columnists I found on that first computer in the days of dial-up was Dr. Thomas Sowell. So thanks to Dr. Sowell I found UK. Other interviews have been good too. ?
Do you remember that epsiode where Peter swung in on a vine wearing a loin cloth?! I might be getting that mixed up with a Ted Nugent concert I attended but I’m pretty sure not.
I hear Beachbody On Demand can do a lot to reverse the effects of aging — that Cruel Mistress. I find that’s too much work, though, and prefer to tie her up while she’s sleeping and throw her overboard.
/I’ll take my cut in small bills, thanks, Drew.
Congrats on your terrific work, Peter. You could have rested on your laurels after “Tear Down This Wall”, but you didn’t. You’re still adding to an already impressive body of work. May you continue for many, many years to come.
Peter Robinson is the best interviewer in any media. He makes it seem so easy, so obvious. He reminds me of a great lawyer who never asks a question to which he doesn’t already know the answer. He is both gentle and thorough. I haven’t seen all of his Uncommon Knowledge interviews over the last 21 years, but I have seen the majority, and I am yet to be diappointed. Even when he interviews someone who seems of no interest to me initially, I find myself totally fascinated at some point in the interview. Hands down, Uncommon Knowledge is my all time favorite podcast.
I agree that Uncommon Knowledge is a treasure. Congratulations and thanks to Mr. Robinson!
It’s only defect is that I wish there were more episodes and more “last questions”.
Thanks Peter for you work for clarity, knowledge in the environment of class and civility.
Oh, and that you actually read the books of guests carefully and get at the heart of their arguments.
Come clean, @andrewklavan. Where’s the picture of you from twenty-one years ago?
Peter, congratulations.
In 2011 I was living and working in Germany when I saw Peter’s interview with the Prince of Liechtenstein, Hans-Adam II. Up until that time I had never heard of Liechtenstein, this after living and working in Europe and the U.K. for over 20 something years. Anyway, the interview convinced me that I needed to go and visit, so on my next business trip to the U.S. Army Garrison in Vicenza Italy I drove down through Austria to the Liechtenstein capital of Vaduz and spent two day there. It was beautiful. I was so impressed that my wife and I spent a week of our Christmas holiday there. Thanks Peter.
My favorite Uncommon Knowledge episode is when Mr. Robinson rides onto the set on his motorcycle. Anyone remember that? No sweater tied around his neck in that one, no sir. It doesn’t hurt that it was a Milton Friedman interview.
And there’s even a Donald Trump reference!
The UK which converted me to being a fan was Peter’s interview with Andrew Klavan. What an amazing combo.
Uncommon Knowledge is easily my favorite interview “show” and that’s about 90% due to Peter’s interviewing style. Congrats to all involved!
Wow, I don’t remember that part. Need to watch it again.
Just watched the UK fall 2008 interview with Andrew Klavan. Incredible! @Polyphemus Thanks for that!
Weirdly, it has aged while I have remained exactly the same. #oddvery
I knew that was the case.
Felicitations, congratulations, and blessings on you – and the work, Peter. I’m a fangirl from the PBS days; thanks to you, uncommon knowledge is a lot less so, week-by-week.
