Trump Firing US Attorneys Is a Good Thing
Attorney General Jeff Sessions has asked for the resignations of 46 US attorneys who were appointed by President Obama. Yes, they are being fired.
Some people are upset with AG Sessions, and President Donald Trump, for the “abruptness” of the firings. I’m not upset; it’s a good start. And only a start:
Published in GeneralYou work at the pleasure of the president You get fired when he wants to fire you. You get reassigned when he wants to reassign you. That’s how it goes. You want a job that doesn’t have that kind of stress? Go work at Dairy Queen. Make me my Blizzard!
Was Trump working at Dairy Queen on the NE US Stella-blizzard? Huuuuge.
Sorry. Off target. ?
Only 46? This doesn’t sound like enough. Clinton fired 93 in one day.
Obama only hired Attys with strong left wing credentials. Sorry, they all should go.
Reminds me of the joke,
Q: What are 10,000 lawyers at the bottom of the sea?
A: A good start.
Glenn Reynolds has this issue pegged in his USA Today Op-ed: Preet Bharara proved Trump right. It is a specie of corruption for a US Attorney to stay in office and act against the lawful desires of the President. Turnover is expected, honorable and essential.
It’s only a scandal when someone other than a Democrat does it.
Its not as good as tracked and targeted coming back would be.
The others already resigned. They knew a new president sweeps clean and did the honorable thing.
