Benjamin Glaser:This Jennifer Rubin article is devastating for Rubio

Perhaps devastating for some, but I’m still waiting for the coveted endorsements of Frank Soto, Brian Watt, Could Be Anyone, and Leigh.

Chopped liver, perhaps, but you don’t have to wait any longer for the rico flip-flop-flip.

If there’s anything better than a flip-flop, it’s a flip-flop-flip.  Few among us who are not Democrats can aspire to the near-impossible flip-flop-flip-flop.  I’m still at flip pending Rubio’s announcement.

I have a feeling you are gonna be waiting a while.

Rubio-Schumer was devastating for Rubio–or should have been. The overwhelming support in these quarters for this traitor is incomprehensible.

Here’s hoping Trump trounces Rubio in FL and sends Rubio to the job better suited to his talents–lobbyist for the sugar industry.

Mike LaRoche:I suggested a Cruz/Fiorina ticket months ago.

Sigh. I do wish Trump could have broken bread with her. It’s a loss for the Donald and congrats to Cruz for recruiting probably my favorite candidate in the entire primary.

This doesn’t do much to change the race.

Frank’s post basically convinced me that there is no way for the Republican party to unite behind anyone. Rubio and Kasich will never drop out. Trump will go into the convention with a majority or a strong lead in delegates and either the Trump supporters or the #NeverTrump side walks away from the party and Hillary wins in a landslide.

I have never been more depressed than I am today.

I find it amusing that you think Trump breaks bread with anyone. He has openly abused everyone who has endorsed him.

The man looks out for himself, time and again. Everyone who gets on the Trump Train ends up worse off for it, except arguably the politicians he buys.

    Tell that to Icahn!

Um. Icahn bought Trump assets out of bankruptcy. Icahn did not get on the Trump train – he waited for the train to crash, then picked over the remains.

He’s backing him none the less for the candidacy: Carl Icahn: ‘No-brainer’ to elect Trump president.

katievs:I would struggle not to lose my head over a Cruz/Fiorina ticket.

If that comes to pass, I want Fiorina pinch-hitting for Ted in the debates w/Hillary. Not that Ted can’t handle Hill, but Fiorina would make it look like poetry.

Or better yet, change the paradigm.  Make the presidential debates ticket vs. ticket.  All 4 on the stage, so the country can see the entire tickets they need to choose between.

katievs: Fiorina is really like a female Romney but less politically successful.

And when was the last time we heard Romney articulate conservative principles in a way that resonates with people?

Heck, when was the first time??

The differences between Carly and Mitt are enormous.

    Songwriter:

Mendel:As for this endorsement, I think it’s great news but likely won’t make a splash.

For everyone gnashing their teeth about how Ricochet is Rubioland, here’s a newsflash: Rubio is not the natural candidate for Ricochet, Fiorina is. Why? Because she’s intelligent, civil, and well-composed – the traits we aspire to here.

Unfortunately, for precisely those reasons, she was and remains a niche figure, completely unknown to most everyone in the electorate save for nerds like us. So while we’re giving each other hi-fives about this announcement, most primary voters – if they even saw this news – are probably asking themselves “Carly who?”.

That is a sad, and depressingly accurate, assessment. sigh.

The past matters not a whit.  If Ted threatens Trump, Carly will be part of the story.  So primary voters will learn about her that way.

Going forward into the general, assuming Ted/Carly is the GOP ticket, the media will HAVE to cover her.  They ignored her, even when her debate performances shot her skyward, because they knew she was the existential threat to Hilliary’s coronation like no other GOP candidate was.  So they froze her out.  She got virtually no press.

If she’s on the GOP ticket as VP, she (and Ted) will have 3+ months of coverage that the media cannot avoid.  That’s plenty of time for the voters to find out all that’s good about her.

Sure. Icahn liked picking up the pieces of Trump’s casino empire for pennies on the dollar. Imagine the opportunities if Trump runs the whole country with that same business savvy!
