Obama Focuses Like a Laser on the Real Enemy: Republicans

At a speech tonight in Manila, President Obama tossed aside concerns about ISIS terror and focused on the real enemy: his fellow Americans.

More than half of US governors have said they do not want to accept Syrian refugees, especially since one of the Paris attackers came to Europe this summer in the human wave from that war-torn nation. Rather than discussing the matter with the states and providing assurances that refugees will be properly vetted, President Obama ridiculed the governors instead.

“We are not well served when, in response to a terrorist attack, we descend into fear and panic,” he said, according to pool reporter Michael D. Shear who is covering the APEC summit for the New York Times. “We don’t make good decisions if its based on hysteria or an exaggeration of risks.”

One day after dismissing the Paris atrocities as a “setback,” President Obama let loose on what really offends him. “When individuals say we should have a religious test and that only Christians — proven Christians — should be admitted, that’s offensive,” he said.

“I cannot think of a more potent recruitment tool for ISIL than some of the rhetoric that’s been coming out of here during the course of this debate.” Obama then mocked the safety concerns of the majority of American governors. “Apparently they are scared of widows and orphans coming into the United States of America.”

He broadened his attack to include all Republicans. “At first they were too scared of the press being too tough on them in the debates. Now they are scared of three-year-old orphans. That doesn’t seem so tough to me.”

It is often said that politics ends at the water’s edge. But politics never ends with Obama, and leadership never begins.

Is this man sane?  That is a serious question.  Any psychiatrists in the audience?

If refusing to accept Muslim immigrants/refugees is the cause of islamist terrorism, then Japan must be a hotbed of islamist violence.

Oh wait, no, it isn’t, because Japan lets in next-to-no Muslims and criminalizes Islamic proselytization. (The total number of muslims in Japan is around 1,500 or so).

Meanwhile, France, Germany, and Scandinavia have welcomed millions of them with open arms over the decades.

(Of course, at the same time, Japan also is constitutionally prohibited from participating in military adventures in the middle east. They’re like a lab for non-interventionist paleoconservatism.)

Wow, it’s really something when a man who is supposedly your leader demonstrates more contempt for you than he does for a foreign terrorist group who just slaughtered over 120 innocent people, simply for the crime of challenging his policies.

Obama is so delusional that even some Democrats are distancing themselves from him.

I find it eye-opening that he can be so focused and merciless in persecuting Conservatives yet so blind to real national security threats and economic problems.  Our media helps protect him from having to face how the rest of the world now sees him, but the media in other countries is not afraid to point out his flaws.  This video from Egyptian TV is a good indication of how he is increasingly viewed around the world. Enjoy.

America has decades of data about what happens when young men are raised without fathers in less-than-ideal economic circumstances. It’s not the widows that are to be feared. It’s what their children will become in the coming decades.

Would their professional ethics allow them to express a “diagnosis”  of someone who is not their patient?

It’s right in line with the Democrat nominees at their debate explaining who they are most proud of being enemies with.  “NRA (something like 5 million members), Republicans, Coal/Oil companies.  Well over half the country if added up.

We can, and should, help take care of them in their own part of the world.

Obama’s goal is to bring masses of people here, from other counties and other cultures, to ‘fundamentally change’ America.    He will let nothing get in his way – especially not the safety of the Americans he despises.

True, I think we’re starting to see that Obama is actually not very unique among Democrat politicians, unfortunately. It’s hard to imagine someone worse, but we certainly can’t rule that out.

These statements are pretty scary for many reasons, but one of the most concerning is his characterization of the refugees as merely widows and orphans.

It’s one thing to think that it’s the right call to accept the refugees. It’s quite another to mock the idea that there’s any risk at all in doing so. It doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in the reassurances we’ve gotten that all of the refugees will be closely vetted, but I don’t think any serious person believed that anyway.

Problem: Their own part of the world is Syria, which is far from being an ally of the United States. Say the US puts boots on the ground and crushes ISIS. What then? Does the US simply hand that territory back to Assad? Does it try to create a new state out of that territory? Given recent history, its unlikely that the US would stick around for long to ensure this new state stays secure, so how does any of these options help the refugees?

Or maybe by “helping them there” we mean increasing US funding for UNHCR refugee camps in Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, etc? It’s not like those countries are going to accept the refugees as citizens. Just look at how they’ve treated Palestinian “refugees” for over 60 years.

Widows because their husbands died fighting ISiS or because they died fighting for Them? And women now use suicide vests. I’m looking forward to see women and children allowed to bypass security measures while attending Presidential events.

TKC1101:It will get worse. All of his ‘achievements’ are going to hell right on tv. I expect petulance, arrogance and flatulence of the highest order, followed by isolation and rumors that “the president is unwell, he sees very few people”.

That assumes he’s capable of shame.

Fake John Galt:Oddly, for a man that was elected to represent the people he does not seem to care about what they want him to do.

This is true for the left in general. No one else shows such contempt for a group of people (“The common man”) while simultaneously claiming to speak for them.

Regarding the “White Widow”, whose Wikipedia article I linked to in comment #29:

“In September 2014, it was reported that Lewthwaite was in Syria, training women to become suicide bombers…”

It should also be noted that the widow Lewthwaite has several children, each one of which is an orphan of a terrorist suicide bomber.

So, yeah, maybe we should be wary of widows and orphans from Syria, despite Obama’s taunts and sneering.

kelsurprise: So how old was Dzhokhar Tsarnaev when he and his vile mother came here seeking asylum?   Apparently, had he only been a few years younger, he’d be a fine, upstanding citizen now.

    Bullseye! How indeed?

The same is true for the UCMerced attacks by Faiseal Muhammad and the man who shot down unarmed USMC troops at recruitment centers in Chattanooga. He was a US citizen, had benefited all the best middle class America could offer. It’s scary when young emigres like this don’t assimilate.

The truth is, American society doesn’t raise our kids and provide them morality, political ethos or imbue cultural mores. Parents provide all that and these kids come from radicalized parents.

I’ve lived in a sanctuary city with open borders my entire life. I know first hand without any statistics to prove it that our government doesn’t vet diddly squat. Even when they do, they fail. (see above post) I won’t be lectured to about xenophobia by homogeneous enclaves of the great white north. Most emigres desperately want the American dream. These do not.

I may have wrongheaded ideas on how to fix problems, but I’m not stupid and I’m not a bigot. I am multicultural, but I don’t have to shill for it. Obama is a disgrace.

“Widows and orphans!?” Why didn’t the police look in kindergartens and retirement homes for those young, male, Muslim terrorists that killed 129 people in Paris.
