LGBTQ State of Emergency: Run For Your lives!
Attention, all people of the rainbow living within the confines of Rainbowstan — er, I mean — the United States. According to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), one of your innumerable advocacy organizations, you are now living in an (ahem!) “state of emergency.”
Let us pause for a few moments of silent solemnity as we gather our thoughts and try to summon up our courage . . . . .
And now, if we have regained our composure, let us continue. Here is just a part of HRC’s rather lengthy and unprecedented statement about the alleged “emergency”:
LGBTQ+ Americans are living in a state of emergency. The multiplying threats facing millions in our community are not just perceived — they are real, tangible and dangerous. In many cases they are resulting in violence against LGBTQ+ people, forcing families to uproot their lives and flee their homes in search of safer states, and triggering a tidal wave of increased homophobia and transphobia that puts the safety of each and every one of us at risk. As we kick off LGBTQ+ Pride Month, HRC will be working tirelessly to educate and arm the LGBTQ+ community with information and resources to ensure their safety — whether they’re planning summer travel through regions that are becoming increasingly hostile to LGBTQ+ people, or whether they already live in a state where legislative assaults and political extremism are continuing to put a target on our backs.
Well, shut my mouth and call me Shirley! You don’t say!
Unfortunately, the drama queens at HRC do say. In fact, it was preening drama queenery at its most overwrought and absurd. And this statement went on and on, and on and on some more, yadda yadda, woe is us, “homophobia” this, “transphobia” that, etc., etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam.
Just listen to some of this histrionically ridiculous language: “forcing families to uproot their lives and flee their homes in search of safer states.” It sounds like some war-torn, third-world hellhole. “Travel through regions that are becoming increasingly hostile…” You mean “regions” like Florida, America’s vacationland of beaches, mai-tais, and endless fun? All because that state draws the line at grooming children? (We’ll get back to that in a moment.)
We’re talking about the identity group that has been placed on a pedestal so high it gets an entire month of indiscriminate celebration and promotion, in addition to all the other days, weeks, and months when it is celebrated only slightly less. And we’re supposed to believe that this revered group, which has become the focus of what amounts to a state religion, is under some kind of threat such that a state of emergency had to be declared? Seriously? I mean, have you totally lost it, alphabet people?
After violent trans lunatics have committed numerous mass shootings, including the one at the Christian school in Nashville, we’re supposed to believe they are in danger? Even as the rainbow people’s sexual proclivities, fetishes, etc., are celebrated by every institution in the country, we’re supposed to believe they are victims? Even after our medical establishment has thrown out the immutable laws of biology in order to placate (and profit from) militant crossdressers who can’t accept the most fundamental characteristic about themselves — their sex — and we’re supposed to believe they are having to flee for their lives?
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! Hissy fits galore! Hyperbolic tantrums abounding!
So, HRC issued this “state of emergency” for the first time in its more than 40-year history. Which begs the question: What in the world has changed from their otherwise straight-up trajectory of institutional conquest? Well, it’s really very simple. Rainbow, Inc., threw caution to the wind and openly went after the children.
Of course, they’ve always been after the children, but it used to be more subtle. But after all their endless success in normalizing deviancy, they got so puffed up with “pride” they thought they could get away with anything. And why not? They always had before.
And then it was drag queen story hour, and “family-friendly” drag shows, and the queering of programming at Disney, and then Sesame Street, and Target, and the schools, and you name it. And “pedophile” being replaced with “minor-attracted person.” They openly went hard after the children. And according to surveys, they have been wildly successful at converting young people into lives of sexual confusion, perversion, and dissoluteness.
And now, wonder of wonders, some people have finally had enough and are pushing back and simply saying, “Don’t sexualize, and in particular, don’t queer or trans our kids.” That’s it. That’s the sum total of most people’s objections to LGBTQIA2S+BLAHBLAH.
They have no particular objections to your endless perversions and depravity, except and until you go after their children, which you clearly are. Otherwise, when it comes to consenting adults in private (please keep it in private!), sodomize to your heart’s content; pervert and fetishize to your heart’s content; commit depraved, unnatural sexual acts to your heart’s content. Just leave innocent children alone!
If drawing such a reasonable and frankly long-overdue line is going to send the rainbow hordes into melodramatic hysterics, what does that say about them? What it says is their depravity is bottomless. What it says is they recognize no civilized boundaries on sexual behavior. What it says is they are an ever-present danger to children.
And now it appears that many, though not nearly all, of us cis-gendered heteronormatives are finally waking up from our half-century-long nap of gratuitous and ill-advised “tolerance” and are realizing that evil is real and it’s consuming us.
See, once the Pandora’s box of perversion is opened, there can never be enough to satisfy the depraved heart. Consequently, it requires more and more, and worse and worse. Therefore, it was inevitable that we would end up here in an environment of institutional degeneracy such that the grooming of children is openly promoted, even by the current presidential administration, which seems to be head-over-heels in love with sexual and gender deviancy, even for children.
But there’s your “emergency,” HRC drama queens, people trying to protect their children from sexual corruption. How dare they!
If anything, a state of emergency should have been declared by normal people long ago to stop this runaway locomotive of perversion that has been screaming down the side of a mountain without any brakes for decades now. That’s the real emergency because it literally threatens civilizational stability. A civilization simply cannot be swamped in unbounded depravity and come out okay on the other side.
But instead, we have this fake emergency. And now, as if the endless rainbow propaganda wasn’t hard enough to put up with, there’s also going to be ceaseless wailing over exaggerated claims of mistreatment and victimhood. Gag me with a spoon!
Look, LMNOPeople, if you want to believe you’re under some kind of existential threat (even though you’re not), great! If that causes you to rein in your most wretched, wicked excesses, then civilization wins. If that causes you to flee “hostile” states, those states win. If that causes you to tone down the grooming, we all win.
If only this so-called “emergency” would scare you straight.

The allure of sexual deviancy is just too intoxicating and powerful for too many. But at least now, a line has been drawn, and maybe, possibly, perhaps the era of total braindead tolerance of degeneracy by the majority is over. We’ll see. In the meantime…

So, the nation’s largest and most organized Bullying group still wants to pretend that they are the ones being bullied? I guess achieving victimhood really is the nirvana of Leftism.
I have trouble even reading paragraphs when I see that combination of letters. My eyes kinda glaze over. Everything about it is so tiresome.
I am going to draw a parallel which no one should read too much into because the things are not alike in any other way.
Christianity and LGBTQct. began in persecution where cohesion and fervor are nurtured. Indeed, the persecution is part of the identity. I would suggest that feeling persecuted and righteous produces a peculiar kind of ‘high’. No one would seek persecution out, but they might pursue feeling persecuted because it is associated with feeling righteous.
Becoming mainstream and the concomitant lack of persecution take a lot of pressure off and have a way of de-intensifying a movement. I would point to the watery Christianity practiced by a lot of Americans and whatever it is that Anglicans practice – or rather don’t practice – in England.
tl;dr Existential threats make you feel more alive and that’s a hell of a drug.
In interesting comparison, the alphabet people thing really is a cult, if a loosly organized, secular one.

I have to disagree that it’s “loosely organized.” The organizational abilities of the left is nothing less than astonishing — and that includes Rainbow, Inc. Taking over every institution in the country wasn’t some kind of lucky fluke. They know what they’re doing!
One other amazing example is the summer of Floyd. In no time at all after George Floyd’s untimely death, the left organized protests and rallies in every corner of every state in the union, including Alaska, where there are no black people. They were so efficient in getting out the false message that all cops are racist, that now we have to live through the worst crime in decades because it would be racist to arrest black criminals. New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Baltimore, Philadelphia, D.C., etc., all swamped in unprecedented or nearly unprecedented crime because of leftist organization and messaging. And the same is true of the queering and transing of young people.
Overturning civilizational norms is what the left does and they operate like a well-oiled machine.

I’m a bit less optimistic than you, as I don’t think that there are “many” who are recognizing the perils of tolerating evil. My guess is that it’s only about 20% of us here at Ricochet, and this is a supposedly conservative site.
I’m also more skeptical about your idea of people waking up from a nap. I don’t think that people have been unaware of what’s been going on. It has been obvious, and they’ve been supporting it, because of a particular, supposedly conservative ideology. That ideology is Liberalism. The root of it is the so-called Enlightenment.
It’s not clear to me, at this point, how people were ever convinced to think of this radical ideology as “conservative.” But they did, and they do.
William F. Buckley may have been the most significant single figure in the intellectual popularization of this idea. Ronald Reagan was probably the most significant political figure. I think that it’s been a catastrophe.

Its got nothing to do with victimhood. It’s recognizing the truth that all of the LGBTQPOCBS that they keep adding letters to every few hours is just about defining themselves as “not those boring white guys”. I’m just saving them from having to change it all the time.
The main danger of death among the perverted seems to be the danger that they will kill themselves. When a pervert kills himself, some people attribute the blame to those who object to the perversion.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the emergency is that the LGBs are trying to figure out how to distance themselves from Ts while retaining Qs.
If the coalition is coming apart it behooves those who want to preserve it to claim that all are under attack and must stand together.
