Never Trump is OK with Political Prosecution

DeSantis stands against this or he is not worth a vote.

GOP candidates not decrying this will most likely change my mind on who I am willing to vote for if they win the primary.

All of you who think things are fine, will you agree they are not if this happens? Of course not. Y’all will be happy because it gets Trump.

We will see who is on the side of law, and who is on the side of political prosecution.

Now, I am more than willing to buy Trump is pumping things up. But, that is typical for political people. Ginning up the base is what is done. It’s how you get into power.

The justice system has been taken over by the Democrats and used against us. How the anti Trump people think this is OK is beyond me.

Trump is loving this, drama queen that he is. I seriously doubt he’s going to be arrested on Tuesday. Calm down.

If he did turn himself in, does that still count as “arrest?”

This is the classic dismissal of another’s feelings as invalid. People don’t generally understand that is what they are doing, but they are doing it nonetheless.

If this enough to arrest Trump, Hillary should be on death row.

If they do go through with this, it will give the next republican administration the balls to clean up the rampant public corruption in the democrat machinery cities. Chicago, NY, etc – we’ll finally find out why education is so expensive, and is so ineffective…

The Trump prosecution is not my circus and not my monkeys; no one other than Trump supporters are obligated to condemn it. Let’s focus on the substantive evils the democrats are doing to our country, this is small potatoes.

Small potatoes? The highly politicized DOJ that arrests a GOP candidate on “trumped” up charges to keep him out of the White House, and you think this is small potatoes?!

You want to focus on the substantive evils the Democrats are doing — then this is where to focus: an evil, corrupt DOJ persecuting anyone just two inches to the right of Hillary. If you believe in justice, in fairness, in equal treatment under the law, then you are obliged to condemn it. If you dismiss this because you don’t like Trump and therefore don’t care how corrupt the DOJ is, . . . well, frankly, go become a Democrat. We don’t need you on our team.

    Good grief.

I doubt you are the gatekeeper of any team;  if you are the team is going to end up being too small a team to be effective.  Trump did payoff a porn star to keep quiet about relations he had while married to Melania.   I do not think he should be prosecuted for it, but whatever.  However,  I do encourage you to make this the hil you choose to die on and the defining issue of your politics.  Go For It.

Yeah, gonna have to go with Not Bloody Likely on this one.

There is nothing “small potatoes” about politicized prosecutions, no matter who is the target.  Corruption will always be with us to some degree or other, but politicized prosecutions go against the essence of what this country is about.

Politicized prosecutions, in America, were unheard of when I was growing up.  That absence was one of the differentiating factors that made America exceptional.

I can’t imagine being dismissive of the fact that we are losing that part of our uniqueness.

I think that this is indeed a politicized prosecution, and I think it’s designed to help secure the GOP nomination for Trump. My guess is that the Dems are hoping this galvanizes Trump supporters who might be wavering. I think Trump hopes for this too.

I think this is a silly statement.  I can not see why any individual would want to be arrested or deal with the issues caused by it or live with the cost or deal with the uncertainty of your future.  Statements such as this I suspect is by people that have never been on the wrong side of the laws will.

I’m serious, and no, I don’t think this is silly. All of this drama puts Trump back on the front page, which is what he wants. Oh sure, he’ll have to be fingerprinted, and handcuffed too, I suppose, but that’s just more front page coverage. Trump will bask in all of this. Nor do I think he really has anything to fear from this prosecution, because it is so blatantly a politically-motivated action – even Never-Trumpers admit the case is on seriously shaky ground. No, this is tailor-made for Trump’s purposes, which is to get on the front page and to paint himself as a victim  – and in this case, he is actually a victim!

I don’t think it is silly at all.  I never like the law bent like this.  It tears into the system.  Makes it more of the joke it is.  Prosecutors that twist the system such as this should be arrested and not celebrated such as this on is.   Like Trump or not (and I do not), being abused by the law for government abuse.

As fo Trump likening this.  I doubt it.  But like anybody with such abuse he will do what he can to be best for him.  Nothing strange about that.

Ok, sure thats why he can get re-elected. But he knows that outside of Kentucky he has nothing. There have never been any rumor of a presidential run – surely he has those ambitions. But he knows his place in the establishment machine.
