Why Is Everyone So Surprised?

When the news broke that President Biden had been keeping classified data in unsecured areas (such as his garage), there was a great hue and cry among the chattering classes.  There shouldn’t have been.

This was far from the first time that Joe has displayed a lackadaisical attitude toward the security of this nation. It was also far from the worst.

In his book, The First Family Detail, ex-Secret Service agent Ronald Kessler told of the problems the agency encountered while attempting to guard Biden when he was the vice president. By far, the worst of the problems was trying to convince Joe of his duties concerning the nuclear “football.”

Some people do not realize that the vice president, like the president, is required to keep the “football,” which contains the launch codes for our nation’s nuclear force, in very close proximity. Without these codes, our forces would be unable to launch our missiles in case we were attacked.

As in the case of the president, a military aide carrying the football is assigned to be with the vice president at all times. It has been this way since 1956, when President Eisenhower initiated the system.

However, good old Joe didn’t see it that way; at least while he was home in Wilmington (which was virtually every weekend). As Agent Kessler described it:

Biden specifically ordered the Secret Service control vehicle, which holds the military aide and a doctor in case the vice president needs emergency medical treatment, to follow at least a mile behind his limousine … as a result the agents were forced to separate vital assets from the vice president in Wilmington when he was motoring around. The agents were told, ‘Don’t come near us, don’t let us see you, the vice president doesn’t want to see you’.

And what was the reason for this unforgivable breach in security? Because Biden wanted to maintain his image back home as a “regular Joe.”

So, because of Biden’s incredible vanity, this nation would have been helpless in case President Obama had been put out of action and an enemy had decided to launch a surprise nuclear attack. Is it really any surprise that Biden leaves highly classified documents lying in his garage?

In a sense, I suppose that Biden has been no different from others in the Democratic Party (Hillary Clinton, Sandy Berger, etc.). However, I do hope that politicians will learn how to handle classified information in the same manner that those in our armed forces are expected to every day.

I am very incredulous of ” Classified documents”  . Meaning things get classified to hide malfeasance . I suspect those documents good old Joe had were records of all his graft while in office . The government would  like all those back because they point to many other accomplices inside of government .

    Just a hunch .

One State Department document on the federal FOIA site reads regarding Ukraine was about Joe’s Jan 15, 2017 (5 days before leaving term as VP) he flew to Ukraine.  The memo mentioned the corruption in Ukraine and people wondered what this visit could be about.

You have exaggerated the hue and cry.

The only ‘man bites dog’s part to this story is that it was reported at all by the liberal media. This would usually be swept under the rug.

I’m not sure about this. The hue and cry seemed to be more about how this wasn’t a big deal and that it was Completely Different! from Trump’s classified documents scandal.

The Babylon Bee does it again.  More top secret documents discovered during President Biden’s colonoscapy.

Yeah, let’s not hold our breath on that.

What is worse, classified docs next to the corvette in a garage in DE or….. an unsecured server in an “unsecured closet” with docs being sent to a woman for printing and faxing to a computer owned by her husband’s (last name shamed Oscar Meyer)?  At least our last president kept those docs out of his wife’s coat pockets! Moe – Larry Cheese!

Yes, and the only reason there was a hue and cry about President Trump is because they’re all in on otherizing and monsterizing President Trump. They can’t walk that back anymore. Otherwise no one knows how routine this kind of “mishandling” of classified documents really is, let alone cares about it. One used to have faith that egregious, corrupt, or traitorous instances of mishandling would be properly handled by the institutions. No longer, although my default is that I can’t know how bad or benign any particular instance is, so therefore we shouldn’t treat instances differently based on who it supposedly involved.

Note that this is yet another case of “Tactical Projection”.

“Accuse your opponent of that which you are guilty.” — Joseph Goebbels

And the dems do it with a weirdly high level of specificity.

Which is why I, myself, ask the question in the title of this post, “Why is everyone so surprised?”  The moment they accused President Trump, you knew exactly what they’ve done.

Agreed. I tend to think that the primary purpose of this kind of thing is to deflect damage away from allies. Any damage also done to enemies at the same time is gravy.

With all the other issues which should have buried Biden (ie: Hunter Laptop and FBI pretend investigations there of …. not to mention Biden Family cash pouring into the US from overseas and raising banking reg red flags ) …. Not to mention Biden’s obvious age related cognitive decline and the MSM’s feigned obliviousness to Biden’s condition …..

….. Why  is this classified documents scandal actually being exposed by the Biden White House and Biden lawyers and why is the MSM/BigTech deciding to treat this as an actual news story and not ignore or drive by the entire scandal as they have done in the past (ie: eventual exposure  of the RussiaGate Lies and all the active participants of the lies) …. nothing to see here folks, it was all just a crazy dream ….

Something Deep State weird is going on ….

Which brings up the larger issue which was apparent in the Trump years …. who is actually pulling the levers of power in this County?

A few more days, and Biden’s successor can have ten years.
