Hellish Offspring

I read an interesting MSNBC opinion article today, by a fellow named Hayes Brown.  I don’t know anything about him.  He’s identified as an MSNBC opinion columnist.  He has quite a remarkable view of me, and of most of you, I think, expressed in these two sentences:

But any new majority in Congress would have the far-right, Trump-loyal wing of the party as its cornerstone. Its members resemble nothing less than the hellish offspring of a troll and a gremlin, expending energy on only two things: owning the libs and tearing the wings off the airplane while in flight.

I wonder how many Democrats and Leftists share this view of people like me.

I have to admit that I sometimes think of the radical Leftists as Satan’s spawn, though on reflection, they’re probably something more like Satan’s pawns.

I continue to have the impression that the vast majority of Democrats would view this Brown fellow as unhinged.  I sure hope so.

I saw that headline on Real Clear Politics this morning and chose to skip it.

Sounds like I made the right choice.

This fellow may or may not be accurate in how ill-bred I am, but he certainly does not understand the two things I am most likely to spend my energy on ….. not even close :)

Firstly, trolls and gremlins cannot breed with one another. Secondly, this writer is both trollist and gremlist and he should be condemned.

We need to remember that it is rhetoric from the right that is the problem in the country.

His bio is revealing in a “huh?” kind of way:

Hayes Brown is a writer and editor for MSNBC Daily, where he helps frame the news of the day for readers. He was previously at BuzzFeed News and holds a degree in international relations from Michigan State University.

    Frame?

We’ll leave the Michigan State degree in IR aside since that would be elitist.

I always though of myself as more the angelic offspring of troll and a gremlin, but why quibble.

The use of “far-right” always makes me laugh. 20 years ago they called Bush a far-right extremists. Now Trump is far-right? If only.

For these people- and they are legion- anyone to their right is an extremist and Trump-adjacent.

This has been my central argument for over 10 years.

You might as well stop trying to convince them that you are not their mortal enemy, and you might consider joining the actual fight against them regardless of how they choose to classify you.

    Maureen Dowd is even better:

And then there’s the future first female president, Kari Lake, who lulls you into believing, with her mellifluous voice, statements that seem to emanate from Lucifer.

And it looks as if Kevin McCarthy will finally realize his goal of becoming speaker, but when he speaks, it will be Marjorie Taylor Greene, Jim Jordan and Lauren Boebert doing the spewing. It will be like the devil growling through Linda Blair in “The Exorcist” — except it will be our heads spinning.

Normally every cartoon reduces the space to simplify the image.

However, this one shows an airplane seat with expanded leg room.  Weird.

It just amazes me how little reflection lefties have on their positions. Maybe its because they spend so much time reflecting on themselves.

Open borders, releasing violent criminals, allowing riots, spending unspeakable amounts of money on a theoretical two degree global temperature in a hundred years (though they admit the spending will not prevent it), 1619, legal abortion through delivery, trans dudes in ladies bathrooms and competing with women, preventing oil drilling in the US – none of these were generally accepted principles in US society for the first 240 years.

    Somehow, we’re the extremists.

Oh my.   I guess there is no need to even pretend anymore that they ‘report’ news.   Perfectly OK to openly admit that they ‘create’ what is fed to the herd as ‘news’.

What’s new is always good according to them. I am amazed at how quickly trans-sexuality became the hip new thing. I only met one trans person my entirely life, (Snowflake was totally awesome by the way.) But apparently I need to pay taxes for an autistic 14 year old boy to cut off his penis or I am a bigot.
