State Farm’s Turn in the Chair

ICYMI,  State Farm Insurance went from “like a good neighbor” to “like that creepy guy who lurks at the edge of the playground” because of the efforts of a “corporate responsibility officer” to distribute LGBTQ reading materials to elementary-age schoolchildren.

Dated Jan. 18, the email was sent by Jose Soto, a corporate responsibility analyst for State Farm in Florida, and in addition to promoting the company’s partnership with the GenderCool Project, it sought to recruit six State Farm insurance agents in Florida to “[receive] these books in March, then [donate] them to their community by the end of April.”

“Nationwide, approximately 550 State Farm agents and employees will have the opportunity to donate this three book bundle to their local teacher, community center, or library of their choice,” Soto wrote in the email.

The three books, A Kids Book About Being Transgender, A Kids Book About Being Non-Binary, and A Kids Book About Being Inclusive, contain various descriptions about gender and identity meant to disprove the notion that gender is the same as biological sex and establish that it is therefore changeable. The GenderCool Project markets the “three book bundle” to children ages 5 and over, a fact noted in the whistleblower email.

The company backed off when the emails were leaked, but a ton of people canceled State Farm policies yesterday. And now the woke leftists are mad because State Farm “caved to the right-wing” and disavowed the program. They are also vowing to cancel their policies, but … let’s be honest … how many woke leftists own cars and homes. (And those that do probably ensure through Progressive).

Anyway, it’s fascinating that not wanting little kids to be sexualized is considered “right-wing”  now.

I feel bad for the agents who are going to lose out on commissions because of the idiocy in C-Suite. Human Resource departments were created to protect corporations from employee lawsuits. But the new crop of HR people, many of whom graduated from college with otherwise useless degrees in “Studies” of some kind. So, latching onto the latest woke-leftist thing is second nature to them.

As to why getting gay with kids (#GGWK) has become such a huge thing on the left, it’s more than simply wanting to groom children into activism. That’s probably the biggest part of it, but you cannot discount the cheap thrill a woke leftist gets from shocking the normals. And there’s not much more shocking than pushing sexual stuff onto kids.

On a personal note, I was a pretty weird little kid. I was into all kinds of weird stuff like science fiction and fantasy, UFOlogy, exotic cultures, I dressed weird, I liked to say things just to shock the adults. OK, I was a weird snotty little brat. I am so glad I never had an alphabet activist for a teacher who decided that because I was an eccentric little kid, that I must be “queer” and therefore consigned to a life of dysfunction. I am equally lucky to have been educated before the era of “medicate all the boys who don’t conform.”

How does something so sure to put the company;s name in the news get by the board of directors??

This sort of thing is fisically irresponsible, as it has nothing at all to do with the business (aside from being downright stupid in that it is likely to tick off huge numbers of people)

You know how? ESG-ratings from Standard and Poor’s Global Ratings. They just removed Tesla from their ratings. These days, big institutional investors like BlackRock, Fidelity, and Vanguard are demanding high ESG ratings from the companies whose stock they own. ESG is totally a scam, and a backlash is forming.

But Tesla makes electric cars. How much more environmentally sensitive can you get than that? (ESG stands for Environmental, Social & Governmental criteria.)

I usually get a letter from State Farm in the mail every month encouraging me to switch to them. I’m currently with Allstate. I may just have to reply to the next solicitation. In fact, I look forward to replying.

You might want to ask some questions. From their site:

    https://www.allstate.jobs/2020/10/20/allstaters-are-partnering-with-gendercool-to-empower-youth/

    AFAIK they haven’t repudiated this.

Thanks for the heads up. I just sent this to my Allstate agent:

It’s unfortunate that Allstate is pushing this grooming garbage and programs like it that prey on vulnerable youth. https://www.allstate.jobs/2020/10/20/allstaters-are-partnering-with-gendercool-to-empower-youth/ I’m now in the process of looking for a new insurance company that doesn’t push this perverted, grooming garbage. I will encourage all my friends and relatives who have Allstate to do the same. Please feel free to forward this to Allstate management to let them know that the cowardly corporate decision to cave to militant grooming activists is about to lose them thousands of accounts and potentially millions of dollars. Well, it’s now more than a week and my Allstate agent or his assistant haven’t replied to my email (see above). In the meantime, I’m getting quotes on auto and homeowner’s insurance from a few other companies.

I do find it amazing that neither my Allstate rep or his assistant haven’t either the decency or the courage to contact me to say at the minimum that they understand my position or even regret that they will lose me (and probably others I know) as customers.

    Just crickets.

Was it “cake” the way we mean it now, or was it the then-current definition of the stuff removed from chimneys?

I’m traveling on business right now and noticed this item in my hotel reservation confirmation: “CO2 Emissions Per night is approximately 58.6lbs/26.6kgs”!! What the hell is that! Fix the bedframe that is squeaking.

    That is priceless!

And yes, what the hell is that??

Environmental, Social and Governance.  Companies that put support of the left wing narrative ahead of profits.

Ahead of actual customer service, really.  Which is what profit is supposed to come from.
