Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing
Recently Victor created a post titled “What Republican do you most regret voting for?“. I did not respond for a few reasons, I was tired, busy, and frustrated. There were so many equally foul Republicans that I voted for in a “lessor of two evil” options that I only scanned the post, and read none of the responses. But was reminded of it today when I read this article about Mitt Romney, and ask, was he ever a Republican?
He alleges that if Trump were re-elected president, that NATO would crumble because they could not trust Trump. Wait, it was Biden that abandoned NATO in Afghanistan, and has France publicly declaring Biden a dunce for demanding regime change in Russia. But Trump can’t be trusted?
Fortunately, Mittens gave his interview on CNN, so only 47 people actually saw it. If Yahoo hadn’t followed up with a banner headline this morning, it would have been the equivalent of bear scatting in the forest; no one would have known.
Still, now I have read this scat, well I have scanned it, not really read it. Scat scanned. Enough to know it really stinks.
Let us hope that everyone of these NT’s and Socialist left wing radical Dems are tossed out this November. Do not get smug, this requires hard work.

I am the opposite of smug about coming elections.
Gosh I miss this man, this icon, this leader.
“Scat Scan” would make a great title for a website that reviewed the news.🙂
NATO wants the US involved no matter who is president. Is Mitt Romney still around?
Increasingly, I regret voting for any Republican when all they ever seem to accomplish is stabbing America in the back.
Jim Geraghty regularly reminds us that all politicians disappoint, but I have never been as disappointed in one as I am in Romney.
Romney reminds me of Jerry Nadler. Not politically, but rather in the degree to which they both seem out-of-touch. I saw someone ask Nadler about the BLM riots, about the situation in Portland back when, and Nadler said it was “myth”. I’m going to be charitable and assume Nadler believed what he said. I’ll do the same with Mittens. Neither fool should be allowed anywhere near the levers of power. People that removed from reality could be as dangerous as Slow Joe.
Trust is an odd concept because a lot of people relate it to being liked. Clearly NATO members didn’t like Trump, but I think they trusted him to do what he said and to hold them to their NATO commitments, specifically paying their share.
Or so we were told.
I assume that everything the media reports is a lie.
They don’t lie all the time, and that is what makes them such effective liars when they choose to lie. I remember a priest saying the same thing about Satan.
If you include a thread or hint of the truth, and spin the rest, it is the most insidious of lies.
I also agree that the MSM should rightly be associated with Satan.
General William T. Sherman would have agreed. According to a quote attributed to General Sherman( from the Ken Burns “ Civil War” series on PBS), Sherman supposedly said that if he had all the newspaper reporters shot at dawn, there would be news from Hell before breakfast.
The original rationale for NATO in the aftermath of WWII, IIRC, was an alliance in order to “keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down.” Well, now the Germans will freeze in the dark unless they pay Russia for energy, a foolish policy that Trump admonished them about.
The same Trump who was enjoying some success in getting the other NATO members to come closer to meeting their financial commitments to NATO than any earlier US president.
That’s like deconstructing an obvious truth into meaninglessness, or into a such strict box that any aberration or exception is used to destroy its entire meaning.
Yup, see it all the time (said with a Barney Fife-like sniff).
All of the republicans I have voted for disappointed me – my biggest issue is debt – something that has never stopped growing ever since I started voting for republicans
NATO wants the US more than the US wants Romney.
Romney belongs to a party of one, the Romney Party.
Sherman was no fan of newspapers, or more specifically, reporters. He recognized that they seemed to avoid printing the truth whenever possible.
I’m actually more concerned about Republicans who are sheep in wolves’ clothing.
