If You Wanted to Destroy the Republic and Drive Conservatives Mad, What Would You Do Differently?

The sadly deceased Rush had a wise saying he repeated often, and it was to this effect: we on the right make the mistake of thinking those on the far-left are rational, thinking people, but maybe a bit misguided, and they just need to be persuaded to love the country as we do.

They are neither rational, reasonable, logical, nor thinking people as we consider those terms and some — many? — really don’t love their country at all. See, for example, statements like that made by the former (thank God!) Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo: “America was never great to begin with.”

A question has been going through my mind for some time- roughly since the rigged election of 2020 (for the best primer on how it was pulled off, see Mollie Hemingway’s excellent and deeply researched book, Rigged) but becoming closer to a conviction since the inauguration of the most dangerously incompetent and corrupt “President” we have ever had. That question is this: what if the far left has not only set out to mortally wound our beloved Nation but, in the process, drive the other half of the population totally, stark, raving mad?

What would they do differently?

Or to frame the proposition as did Dr. Larry Arnn, President of Hillsdale College, in a recent essay published in Imprimis, the monthly publication of the college (free subscription available at hillsdale.edu):

Here are two questions pertinent to our times: (1) How would you reduce the greatest free republic in history to despotism in a short time? and (2) How would you stop that from happening? The answer to the first question has been provided in these last two disastrous years. The answer to the second has begun to emerge in recent months. Both are worthy of study.

Let us count the ways, or, in modern parlance, let us check off the boxes.

A good place to start might be to have a significant portion of the citizenry knowingly, with a full public record available of the deceit, fraud, corruption, dishonesty, graft, accumulation of what might be, with reason, seen as obscene amounts of wealth attained through deals with foreign connections, accord such an unfit person the highest honor we can bestow on an American citizen- the Presidency of the United States of America. And, it must be noted, they did this at a time when this person’s rapidly declining cognitive abilities were obvious for all to see – except, perhaps, for those who did not wish to see. See, It Must Be Said: Biden Is Dangerously Impaired, here.

Then, you would follow up by branding anyone who even dared to question the (at least!) obviously tainted results of that election racists and worse and having them cast out of society as pariahs. In furtherance of that campaign, you would vilify the attorneys representing the candidate on the losing end of that charade “unfit to practice law” and have at least one of them suspended from the practice of law. All of this for a lawyer discharging his sworn duty to represent his client zealously and to the full extent of his ability, in line with the oath I swore upon admission to the Bar of Louisiana:

To opposing parties and their counsel, // I pledge fairness, // integrity, // and civility, // not
only in court, // but also in all written // and oral communications;

I will abstain from all offensive personality // and advance no fact // prejudicial to the honor or
reputation // of a party or witness // unless required by the justice of the cause // with which I
am charged;

I will never reject // from any consideration // personal to myself // the cause of the defenseless
or oppressed // or delay any person’s cause // for lucre or malice.

So help me God!

And I hope I will not be barred from polite company for simply observing that this action emanated from the New York Bar Association which one may feel safe in describing as anything but a utopia of perfect, ethical, straight-arrow lawyers and Judges— see, for example, the pure-as-the-wind-driven-snow Frères Cuomo.

Or, if you were intent on destroying our Nation, one of the quickest ways to get that started would be to open the floodgates on the Southern Border and not only let hordes of illegal aliens in, many with extensive criminal records, some MS-13 gang members and untold numbers with various unchecked diseases, including COVID, but you would invite them in! And when the “proles” (1984) you “rule” (wasn’t that what 1776 was all about?) looked around a few months later, not long after the Reader-in-Chief’s “coronation”, and found they had been invaded by nearly 3 million “new neighbors” (read: Democrat voters), they might well start questioning not only their “leaders’” sanity, but very possibly their own.

And, then, to move the process along of driving those Trump voters mad, after a year or more of calling them the worst names in the book for even wondering about the wisdom of inviting these teeming masses in with no hope of assimilation or education or productive citizenship, you would have your cognitively challenged reader mouth these words in diametric opposition to the reality they all see around them every day:

“And if we are to advance liberty and justice, we need to secure the border and fix the immigration system.”

Then, for just a dash of mischief designed to drive the savages truly off the tracks, you might throw in this little bit of Potemkin-esque fantasy:

“We can do both. At our border, we’ve installed new technology like cutting-edge scanners to better detect drug smuggling.”

If the “Chumps for Trump”, as our ever civil, polite, patrician “President” referred to us on his almost non-existent “campaign trail”, were still resistant to all your best efforts you might set out to destroy many of our major cities and have their residents shot, knifed, maimed or killed and have billions of dollars of damages done to small businesses by burning them to the ground — and then say nothing or tacitly approve this kind of barbarism. And what better way to assure that actually works than to cut off -or at least drastically reduce — funding or our local law enforcement agencies. Surely someone must have thought of that and if they did, who would dare to speak out against it, inviting every vile epithet imaginable, such as racist, murderer, etc., etc., and we all know the list by heart. Wait, you say? This has already been done across the country? But, surely these could not have been the case in Democrat-controlled cities in view of their steadfast support of law and order, right? Alas, as our Founding Father and Second President, John Adams, noted: “Facts are stubborn things…” and the facts as shown in a poll by Neighborhood Scout and reported in the Daily Signal are that of the 20 most dangerous cities in the US, 18 have Democrat mayors with two being elected in non-partisan elections.

And then, for the coup-de-grace, guaranteed to drive those smelly, snaggle-toothed, deplorables (a/k/a Trump supporters and patriotic Americans) completely mad, you would have your “reader” stand before the world and proclaim, in loud, self-righteous, if somewhat slurred, terms:

We should all agree: The answer is not to Defund the police. The answer is to FUND the police with the resources and training they need to protect our communities.

However, as most rational, thinking citizens with a functioning mind will recall, as recounted in a recent article in The Federalist entitled 17 Absurd Lies Biden Told During His State of the Union Speech, those “stubborn” facts just keep coming back to that half of the citizenry the left seems to hate so much, causing much dissonance when they try to treat lunacy like this with reasoning and rationality:

Funding for police, Biden said, is suddenly a big priority for his administration, but when rioters called for harm and financial cuts to police forces around the country during the 2020 summer of rage, Biden refused to condemn them.

The president also allies himself with Democrats who proudly call for “racist” police forces to lose their funding.

Here are 7 minutes of Democrats saying we need to defund the police. It’s amazing they try to say they never argued for this.

By then you should have the Great Unwashed heading for the exits in disbelief or maybe calling the shrink’s office for an emergency session.

Maybe for an extra dollop of mean-spiritedness, you would show the world what an unserious Nation we have become by having the “President’s” background at what not long ago was a respected annual report to the Nation consist of entirely of two airheads who are utterly and completely unattached from any resemblance of the life most Americans actually live, with one of them – it is almost painful to write these words- third in line to the Presidency, misbehaving like a person on either far too much medication (tawny to amber colored liquid, perhaps?) or who has gone off her meds completely. Perhaps those old enough to remember when we had a REAL President, in the years 1980-1988, with an administration populated largely by actual adults, might start questioning their own sanity when reading that the other “luminary” behind the reader, in a meeting in Munich on the Ukrainian crisis, addressed the leading statesmen of Europe in these terms:

“I mean, listen, guys, we’re talking about the potential for war in Europe,” Harris said at one point Sunday in response to a question about how the Biden administration saw the situation’s “endgame” playing out.

“I mean, let’s really take a moment to understand the significance of what we’re talking about,” the veep went on. “It’s been over 70 years. And through those 70 years … there has been peace and security. We are talking about the real possibility of war in Europe.”

I mean, guys, this should do it for any last remaining deplorables out there who still have any semblance of sanity left! However – “guys”!- here’s another bit of business uttered by the moron next in line to the Presidency of the United States of America which should finish them off just in case they still think there’s some hope for their government:

“So Ukraine is a country in Europe,” Harris explained indignantly in a radio interview on Tuesday. “It exists next to another country called Russia.”

***

“Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So basically that’s wrong. And it goes against everything that we stand for,” Harris said.

Another way to drive those smelly Wal Mart shoppers off the cliff would be to eliminate the Keystone XL pipeline on the first day in office followed, as night follows day, by having to beg the Saudis and the Russians – yes the ones who are slaughtering men women and children in Ukraine- to make up for the shortfall in our own supply. Of course, this will surely make our Socialist wing happy, drive the deplorables mad, and do wonders for the economy! Of course, the jury is still out on that last part but that’s, as our revered former Boss would have put it, “just a bump in the road”!

Poor deplorables, you almost have to feel sorry for them, we’ve got them so demoralized. By the time November rolls around, they will be so beaten down they won’t even get out to vote—that’s when we finish them off. Or, as our Reader-in-Chief put it: “Go get ‘em!”

Yes, it’s safe to say we’re well on our way to driving those irredeemables out of commission completely. And if we can lock up enough Jan. 6 “armed insurrectionists”, enough Freedom Convoy truckers like our hero, the well-coiffed Justin did up north— and turn loose enough BLM and Antifa ghouls and thugs on them, they won’t stand a chance. They will be reduced to standing on the side of the road, pathetically wailing about all those old nostrums they claim are so important, like Equal Justice Under Law (so sad!), election integrity (c’mon man!), stamping out corruption in government (can you believe these people?) and wanting to preserve and defend the Constitution of the United States (how quaint.. how pathetic).

***********************************************************************************************************

As I wrote the above—dare I call it parody or am I that brave?— I found myself wondering if I was the one going around the bend? The obvious phrase which keeps coming back as one thinks about the sheer lunacy of this “Administration”, an oxymoronic usage if ever there was one, is, of course: You can’t make this stuff up!

For those who might be interested in further reading of a few recent pieces of writing on which the above was based, here is a list of the ones I found most enlightening:

Americans Who Voted for Joe Biden Owe The Rest of Us an Apology, here.

Biden’s Unserious State of the Union, here.

We Are Not a Serious Country. Wo We Have a Very Serious Problem, here.

Americans are no longer a serious people or culture, here.

Everything is Fine. What Are You Complaining About?, here.

After Last Night, here.

The Crowded Road to Kyiv, here.

Russian to Judgment: The Birth of a Meme, here.

One final note, which to me succinctly captures in a few words, the madness of the world in which we find ourselves today. It is the conclusion of Roger Kimball’s piece above, Russian to Judgment: The Birth of a Meme and it gives one serious pause just to think of where we find ourselves:

The larger point is this: The machinations of history, declared obsolete by some, have a way of surprising us. The surprises, alas, are not always pleasant. This was intimated by one observer in a tweet. “As a German,” he writes, “I just wanna get some things straight.”

The entire western world wants us to

— Build up a huge army

— March through Poland

— Fight the Russians if needed

Just writing it down, so there is no misunderstanding in the future.

God Help Us.

The fix for a despotic national government is for states to assert themselves.  No state dared to override the corrupt FDA and allow for use of ivermectin and HCQ.   When states (and peoples) eagerly go along with despots, there is no escape.  In the end, there will be no apologies either.

You may have noticed which title I put at the top of the list. I have trouble keeping any expression of the way I view those “citizens” in a form which passes C of C muster. Thanks, Jim

By the way, I highly recommend that article for a full reading; it is excellent.

Once again, I will sound like a Campaign Manager for our great Governor, Ron DeSantis– at a time when it was a guarantee that he would be viciously attacked by the pearl clutchers  he did something very few other Governors did — he actually read the data and studies on what worked and what was just for show and set policy accordingly. Sure enough, the “bed wetters” came out in strength and called him every name in the book– and still are to this day, calling him a bully (totally insane) for telling the high school boys to stop participating in “mask theater” the other day. You will note that almost every time he goes his own way and, with him, of course, so do we Floridians, after a lot of name-calling and calling him a Murderer, his policy remains! Fits your comment like a glove, doesn’t it? Thanks, Jim

My brother-in-law, Dr. Trink, just informed me today that pharmacies in Florida won’t dispense Ivermectin even though they have it. Something about CDC rules? Gov DeSantis should do something about that.

I read that piece a few days and it was one of the many times since the pure-as-the-wind-driven snow clean election of 2020 I reminded myself of what a horrible tragedy that more citizens don’t inform themselves of facts like these–or, if they do, just don’t seem to care. To me some of the most dangerous among those latter groups are the so-called Never Trumpers, who to this day call themselves “Republicans” and are no more Republican than practically any member of the Democrat party. I guess I would have to, in all fairness, make an exception to that statement for the truly radical Bernie wing of the party and just plain ignoramuses like AOC and that group of batty loons around her. Thanks, Jim

By the way, here’s a video of some liberal reporter getting crushed by our  Governor for asking a question with a loaded narrative about the so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill which is just one more example of why we think he’s hands down the best Governor in the USA today and may well be a top contender in 2024, Jim.

The basic knowns. 1. Russia is not a threat to us.  They want their traditional border state neutral as we want Mexico and Canada not held in hostile hands.  They are weak vulnerable declining power and not a threat to us except in a suicidal war.  Putin is too rational for that.  2. China in contrast, is a live real aggressive threat but Biden is in their pockets.

The unknowns.  The Democrats are very likely to succeed in stealing the next two elections.  If they don’t, the US Republic could  have a future.   So we have two immediate objectives.  1. try to prevent the Democrat election theft and 2. prepare for the theft if it happens.  They are compatible objectives.

The  Democratic Party is completely different from the historical Democrats, but has been drifting in this direction throughout most of the 20th century, until recently not on purpose, but it’s the nature of centralized power to grow until it narrows then kills what allowed it to grow.  It’s there now and we have to defeat it.
