Students and parents in Washington State welcome medical tyranny, don’t want to quit wearing masks.

I admit, I was just flabbergasted when I read the comments of various Washington State students and parents, regarding the possible end to state-mandated wearing of face coverings in schools.  Since the fall of 2020, when some schools went back to in-person instruction, the State has mandated that all students, staff, and teachers wear face coverings while in school buildings.  The Teachers Unions have been particularly adamant about mask mandates, in spite of the SCIENCE indicating that they are not at any higher risk, and the fact that teachers were among the first groups eligible to be vaccinated in early 2021.  They still quake in their boots and swear that their own students are putting everyone at risk if they do not wear masks in school.

But some of these comments just indicate that the State mandates and statistics have had their desired effect.  The press and Health Nazis have instilled abject fear in a significant slice of the population, of a virus with a 99.9% recovery rate.  Here’s what some have to say about the Superintendent of Public Instruction’s call for the end of mandated mask-wearing in public schools.

Students like Kamiak High School Junior Esaw Adhana are making it clear they don’t want masks to be taken out of schools any time soon, as Reykdal recommended to the governor’s office Wednesday.

“My goal is not for masks to be the new norm,” Adhana said. “No one likes to wear masks 24/7. Eventually, but just not yet.”

……..

But, parents are voicing concerns.

If we do, you know, remove the mask mandate, are the numbers going to go straight back up again?” said Julie Dennis, a Shoreline School District parent.

And, of course, the Teachers Unions are sounding the alarm!

The Washington Education Association said in an email statement the state must anticipate that lifting the mask mandate will exacerbate staffing shortages and interrupt learning.

Washington State teachers have decided that they will not be able to teach their students if they are not required to wear a dehumanizing face covering.

I despair for the average person in the state in which I live.  They have succumbed to the 100% government control of their lives, and now welcome medical tyranny.

I will continue to defy that tyranny.

I spent some time last summer with my grandson and his best friend. They are top students in their sixth-grade class and all-around perfect and wonderful kids.

They have made the mask part of their personal habit repertoire. It was interesting to watch how they have adapted to this added “hygiene” step. It’s now a natural behavior for them, like putting their collar up against the wind.

We stand up because we trust our leg muscles to support us until they don’t someday. If our leg muscles continue to not work or if someone tells us to not use them because we will injure ourselves if we do, a lot of people will become fearful and never stand up.

I wonder if a lot of the people who are now kids will ever regain their confidence in their immune system. I bet they won’t.

It’s really sad. We need human contact and relationships to thrive. Those both take a relaxed confidence around other people. I worry that we have created problems for a percentage of the next generation that can’t be solved.

I did a day or two ago see commentary by a psychologist (of course I can’t remember where I saw it) that some shy students like hiding behind masks. The mask provides a convenient excuse to avoid participating in class discussions, and makes it easier for the kids who always wanted to hide in the back of the classroom to do so more effectively. A friend of ours with a shy 9 year old boy anecdotally confirms that her son likes the anonymity and privacy that the mask provides, and the excuse a mask provides for not speaking up in class. [Even though I am a shy person who often likes to hide in anonymity, I don’t think it is good for children to encourage such hiding. But, that perspective provides a possible explanation for why some people want a mask mandate.] More prevalent though is probably just that people have been brainwashed by two years of fear porn.

If King County is ending its vax proof mandates, this should put pressure on the mask mandates next.

We’ll see if it covers all the indoor venues, including gyms.  Jeff Duchin Delenda Est (it is he, not Dow Constantine, who actually has been running King County for two years).

@rushbabe49, the Seattle Times says restaurants, bars, and gyms are included.  It says that after March 1, businesses may impose their own vax requirements,  should they (unwisely) choose to do so.

Oh yeah, I expect many bars and restaurants will impose their own mandates.  I expect it will take a while for everything to shake out.  That will determine whether we eat out in King County again.

    Well, that didn’t take long.

    https://komonews.com/news/local/inslee-could-announce-end-to-indoor-mask-mandate-today

(The  URL wording is misleading……Inslee did announce an end to mask mandates.  Much to my surprise, he didn’t kowtow to the state teachers’ union.  Of course, some districts will probably continue with mask theater at the behest of their local unions.)
