David Burge has economically described the process by which leftists seize institutions.
The pattern has played out countless times as the left carried out the march through the institutions; taking over academia, media, deep state bureaucracies, until even the Boy Scouts, corporate boardrooms, and even churches have embraced left-wing social ideologies. Why do these institutions embrace the very people who have sworn their destruction? I can’t imagine. It’s like saying, “This is a lovely house, but what it really needs is a nest of scorpions in the living room.
As The Critical Drinker points out, this same sort of pattern has happened to formerly popular intellectual properties (Star Wars, Star Trek, James Bond, Terminator) courtesy of a left-wing Hollywood more interested in servicing The Agenda than providing entertainment.
Step. 1: Pick your target. (A popular cultural entertainment property with a legacy fan base)
Step 2: Lie about your attention. (Promise to “keep the spirit of what made it great” or something like that.)
Step 3: Modernize it. (Eviscerate the things that made the property popular, and replace it with representative intersectional marginalized characters and woke storylines.)
Step 4: When the reboot fails, blame the fans for being racist, sexist, or whatever.
Step 5: Move onto the next intellectual property, rinse and repeat.

The left likes to remake everything in their image. So does Satan incidentally. Everything they touch ends up in hell on earth or hell in hell. Then they both blame the opposite side for their failings. I really believe the modern left is Satan’s emissary’s. They just don’t know it yet, but they will.

Notice how the left rarely creates its own entities to compete with existing institutions.
My guess is because once the left’s system is up and running against an existing thing, the average person can easily compare the two and see how flawed the leftist system really is. Therefore, the goal is to take over the existing institution and kill it from within, while at the same time remolding it into what it wants (the “wearing of the skin”).
This is why the Boy Scouts went gay, then coed. I’m sure trans fits in there somewhere too.
I think you mean “intention”. Attention is similar to noticing things. Intention is more analogous to the examples you cite.

There’s also a fifth step: Describe any criticism of this process as “anti-American.” Point at conservatives who complain about it and say, “Look! They’re not conservatives! See? Conservatives want to conserve things, and these so-called ‘conservatives’ just want to burn them down.” Get David French to write something to this effect.
Yup. And there certainly exist conservatives who will fight to conserve corrupt institutions because they think the institution is too important even if it is corrupt. McCarthy vs the FBI is a great example of this.
They demand entry to these institutions on the grounds of ‘fairness’ , that their views are not bring represented. With good intentions the institutions say ‘come in, we’re open to all views’. Once in they use the same technique to gain control. Once in control they only hire their own and lock the door to all other views on the grounds that those views are of racist , sexist , xenophobic etc.
