Thanksgiving

As I was sorting through some old things, I ran across a little thanksgiving prayer I had written the first year my husband and I were married. We had a quiet Thanksgiving that year, just the two of us and a duck. We’re off to a much larger (and doubtless noisier) Thanksgiving dinner with extended family soon. Enjoy giving thanks, all, and God bless!

    Fat with pleasant imagery. Thanks.

Did the duck eat with you or did you eat the duck?

We ate the duck. He was fat – and delicious.

We had a goose one year. It was very good. Some friends stoped over before we ate and loved the looks so much that we cooked two a week later and had them for a second Thanksgiving.

I loved that – assuming you married young, you had a lovely perspective of life already! Glad you shared it – perfect for today.

Midge . . . that last stanza just about had me outta bed and standing as the goose flesh lifted me off my pillow.

You know you’ve encountered ‘poetry’  when you bow toward the poet and beneath your breath – acknowledge that you wish you’d written that.

    Lovely.  Lovely.
