Fred Cole: Look, if someone wants to have a conversation with you, I say have the conversation.  I don’t see any hard in it.  He’s the president, he might almost have something interesting to say. · October 11, 2013 at 6:19am

Agreed. I think the aggravation came from listening to Costa gush about how nice a guy he really is, no really. The setting was pristine and he actually has smart things to say, and even though I am a reporter in his prime I said very little because hey what do I know in a room full of people like this, especially this really smart not partisan sounding Obama….yada yada yada.

I like Costa too. It is fine if he came out saying, look he is a terrible president but not a bad conversationalist. Or if he came out saying I admit I was too awed to be effective, give me some time to pull the wool from over my eyes. Instead he came out with nothing of worth to say except that he had indeed attended an OTR meeting.

I still enjoyed the rest of the podcast.

My stomach started to churn during Mr. Costa’s segment.  I am really sick of hearing how “nice” Obama is up close and personal while publicly he lambastes conservatives or anyone who disagrees with him as “enemies” and further exhorts his supporters to “get in their faces.”  I really can’t reconcile the public with the private and it seems to me that Mr. Costa is okay with these two divergent personalities.  This whole OTR meeting was too cute by half.  I’m glad the five reporters got to see a different side of our President.  We now see how Mr. Obama has such high personal approval ratings despite is disastrous policy and hateful rhetoric.

Also, thank goodness for James Lileks.

Sorry, I refuse to give our president any credit for this meeting.  He burned through all the good will offered him over the past six years.  We owe him nothing.

I just don’t undertand why we conservatives are so wont to throw each other under the bus so readily?  I would not trash Bob Costa.  Have a little respect.  Reagan’s 11th commandment, etc.
