Noah’s glee is premature, progressives are fired up for the Georgia seats, the Trumpy right is depressed and won’t come out for the institutional party and Stacey Abrams has a GOTV machine that is apparently overdelivering.
If they pull out both Senate races, we have a hellscape on our hands where razor thin margins don’t temper the administration.
Noah Rothman’s giddiness about the likely Congressional balance of power versus Biden’s incoming administration has me rethinking my disappointment that the President (apparently) lost. At the same time, it will take a lot of effort by those outside the MSM bubble to keep the scrutiny as intense on the 46th’s President’s administration as it has (rightfully) been on team Trump. The Biden promise to push ‘Equality for All’, and transitioning away from fossil fuels, I fear could be promulgated by executive orders. While these matters, and more concern me, ultimately, I can conclude it is partly sunny today.
I share Noah’s reaction note for note. Normalcy has never seemed so exciting.
If the integrity of PA vote is impossible to verify (2,500,000 million mail in ballots, chain of custody problems, etc), the final arbiters are the members of the PA legislature and the electors it appoints. They must decide who receives the state’s 20 delegates. (Same for WI, MI, GA, NC, AZ.)
Trump has not lost. To the contrary. This thing is wide open, and it is time for conservatives to show some spine in the face of the progressive assault on free and fair elections. This is a massive, unprecedented opportunity to return to voting in person, with ID, on one day, with limited absentee ballots.
It’s your job, people of the Commentary podcast, to explore and explain the Constitutional possibilities, not to cave. If you don’t stand up, who will? You, too, Rob Long. I bet Peter and James are ready to fight.
Consider: Russia hoax, fine people hoax, Trump supporters are racist hoax, impeachment hoax, mail-in-ballot hoax, polling hoax, big tech censorship, big media narrative slathered over all . . . also, proposed packing court, ending filibuster, adding states, destroying electoral college, wished for one party state, all this versus excellent judicial appointments, tax cuts, deregulation, growing economy, energy independence, a broad working class party, Jerusalem, Golan Heights, Middle East peace, no new wars, 1776 Commission, fighting racist “diversity” training programs. Out of breath.
Take a step back and survey the scene. Trump has earned our support and this is a fight worth having.

Since we’re supposed to be civil here I can not say what I think about the likes of Noah.
I am so upset and in disagreement with the deficit spending during the Trump years that I am not very upset about Trump being denied an election I think he actually won. Which I admit is nuts to say, because Trump has done so much to advance the working class republican brand that I believe in.
Over the last few decades, Democrats have happily ceded the working class to the Republicans.
They see no reason to change course.
Noah is wrong about republicans being in a strong position going into 2022 midterms. They will not have Trump pushing a working class agenda, meaning republican voter turnout will be lower than otherwise. Democrats have their illegal ballot harvesting machine that will provide a guaranteed high turnout of their voters. Who is going to attend a Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz ( I condemn proud boys ) organized political rally?
exactly. Why vote for a republican Senate that has been silent on countering the obvious democrat voter fraud in cities around the nation?
And how does Mitch keep all republican senators voting as a block? The corporate republicans want immigration, work visas, international trade deals and American soldiers overseas. Working class republicans want none of that.
Can’t wait to read the very serious thought pieces and hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from Commentary when the Biden administration treats Israel like a pariah. You can explain to the families of the Jews murdered by emboldened Palestinian terrorists that even though the murderers are getting a stipend courtesy of US taxpayers, at least Trump isn’t tweeting as POTUS anymore!
