Today’s podcast takes up the bizarre situation in the Senate runoffs in Georgia and the developing fights inside the Democratic party pitting actually popular national political figures (like Barack Obama) against radical local politicians (like Missouri’s Cori Bush) who seem to think they know better. Give a listen.

It doesn’t come as a shock that John only sees one side of the equation in depressing the GOP vote for the runoff coming from Trump’s side.

Because Noah Rothman and David French’s joy on the day after election day is the other catalyst.  The pundits taking almost glee in the “surgical strike” and pooh-poohing the anger.

They got way too smug with the assumption that the Trump voters were going to save the Senate while simultaneously calling them deranged. Now they’re blaming Lin Wood and Sidney Powell but this was always going to be the problem.  Everyone should have kept quiet but instead a lot of Trump voters saw a lot of Never Trump GOP types high fiving along with the Democrats.

I understand anger and bad feeling, but it’s still super, super, suuuuuuuuper dumb to let a Democrat, Lin Wood, give Georgians a gun and have them happily shoot themselves in the face to show they’re mad.  (The irony is from a Hollywood parody, actually.)

I am about to listen to the podcast, so I’m not totally sure what the Commentary crew will say.  However, the we’re-just-not-going-to-vote-because-we-are-angry sentiment being stirred by self-interested people in Georgia, a state I love dearly and called home for most of my years on this planet, reminds me of how Claire McCaskill put money into the Republican primary a few years ago to ensure that the crazy candidate got on the ticket in her state and she’d win again.

This is all very silly.  And I voted for Donald Trump.
