Trump specifically said that he wasn’t going to do an Obama style pullout of Iraq. Iraq was actually a more governable place than Afghanistan in 2011.
That’s all well and good but what happens if the government of Afghanistan is around as effective as a Republican controlled Congress? I’m fine with avoiding nation building but to keep the terrorists down we need some kind of government in Afghanistan and Afghanistan does government badly.
