In New York City today President Donald Trump signed an executive order to cut red tape on infrastructure projects to make it easier, he said, to construct roads and bridges. He then took questions from reporters, who almost exclusively asked about his comments about the violence in Charlottesville, VA, last weekend. The exchange between Trump and the reporters was lively, with one reporter asking the president, “Are you against the Confederacy?” Trump repeatedly denounced the reporters as being part of “fake news,” saying that the coverage of what happened in Charlottesville would have been better, “If you were honest reporters, which in many cases you’re not.” Trump also asked reporters if they were in favor of taking down statues of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, since both were slave-owners. “You’re erasing history,” said the president.

I was happy to see Trump come out and condemn the black shirted antifa fascists today by name or description. Yesterday he specifically condemned the alt right/neo natzi types. Two days before, when he had minimal information, Trump generically condemned all the violence and touched on a lack of police control (law and order). This is a logical sequence based on more and more information becoming available. That information includes the fact that some people were “fine people” not seeking violence but simply exercising their free speech right, such as the very sad case of the woman who was killed, acknowledged by the President as a horrible loss. Throughout the weekend the fake news did not mention ever the fact that the violence was coming from the left as well as the right. As usual, the pundits on the right as well as our GOP congresscritters allowed the left/media to control the narrative. We have a man in President Trump that doesn’t accept the left’s narrative and has a large enough megaphone to challenge it. I am glad he does.

In my opinion anyone who marches with Nazi’s is a bad person. They have no moral center. Period.

Thank you for your expertly regurgitated opinion. I applaud you for your tremendous moral courage and your uncanny ability to pass moral judgment on others without regard to actual facts.

What the hell brought this on? Am I not allowed to have an opinion?
