‘His Thumb on the Scales of Justice’: Chris Wallace
I am sorely disappointed in Chris Wallace. He does not usually say dumb things. But when he commented about Trump “putting his finger on the scale of justice” in the Roger Stone case, what he said was really stupid.
President Trump is the chief elected administrator in this country with authority over the Justice Department. When he sees the Justice Department do something unfair he not only has the right but the duty to address it. Isn’t that what we want in a president?
We might quibble about whether it was appropriate for him to express his concerns about the fairness of Roger Stone sentencing via Twitter. Still, Twitter works for the president. He has the same First Amendment right as everyone else to express his opinion.
I want the president to “put his thumb on the scales of justice” when that is tipping the scale toward the just and away from the unjust.

On example of a “non-scandal” in DOJ hiring practices by Holder was uncovered in a 2011 IG report. The incoming administration had nearly a 100 open positions in the Civil Rights Division yet studiously excluded qualified private law firm applicants in favor of hiring from advocacy NGOs. The reason was ideological, as self identified “civil rights” NGOs assert that the non-discrimination provisions of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 apply only to non-whites, contrary to the clear language of the Act. After the hires this also became the de facto position of the Holder DOJ.
The lame stream news media’s distortion of all things Trump began a long time ago.
At the tail end of the 2016 Presidential campaign, the news media was in full swing regarding the sexist statement Trump made: I can grab your p__sy.”
Whenever I turned on the TV, there was a Talking Head mentioning it. The consensus among Talking Heads was that this was a comment no one running for the Oval Office should ever make.
I agreed – as after all, who in their right mind would say this while running against Hillary, who was supposed to become our first Lady President?
It was only two days before the election that I found out that this statement had been made some 10 full years earlier, as a private comment during “locker room” talk. That was not at all how the news media presented it.
And it has not gotten better since.
He says it because he is trying to help the Democrats. He is attempting to keep them from shooting themselves in the foot again.
If we all think about it, Chris Wallace is good for Fox. Who can say they’re not fair and balanced as long as Wallace is on there? Fox, of all the news show, is the only one that truly gives a fair hearing to both sides.
Chris Wallace is, and always has been, his father’s son.
Of course, with his “wingman” Eric Holder and “wingwoman” Loretta Lynch, Obama could at least put up the appearance of not “putting his thumb on the scales of justice.” Thank heavens justice is blind! (sarcasm intended)
