That was a nice opening by Nunes.  But it is infuriating to even have to watch any of this.  The whole thing is a sham.  The Dems failed with Russian hoax, so now they go to Ukraine hoax.  They could have been more imaginative and gone to a different continent instead of going to Russia’s neighbor. Hoax is a hoax, and I’ve become a believer in the “deep state.”  I used to think it was an exaggeration but a deep state really exists that tries to run the country.  If you don’t get their approval, they will come after you.  What is really disconcerting is how the average person believes this sham,.  I keep running into people who are politically neutral and have bought in.  The media is a disgrace too.  I’m just sick of it all.

The impeachment inquiry, for some, is a framework for gathering together all the complaints about Trump into something with the official veneer of a legal judgment.

Yes! This! It wasn’t about finding “high crimes and misdemeanors,” it was a performative “airing of grievances” about the President. And it’s not even Festivus yet!

In this case they were griping about his foreign policy — which is totally his purview, and not that of the “interagency” (a word that kind of sends chills down my spine). But given that Democrats have come up with 86 95 incidents of the President committing an impeachable act, this airing of grievances could be about anything.

James Gawron: He kept his composure and didn’t call them by the names they have so completely deserved to be called.

    Because that is Trump’s job . . .

No one who has even the slightest bit of conservative political leanings, and objectively watched the video of Devin Nunes opening statement, would ever use the word “beclowning” to describe it. No one.

You said it. Devin Nunes is a hero in the eyes of every single person in this country who believes in justice and fairness.
