Who Attacked Whom in Sri Lanka?

it appears to be a big mystery to some folks:

They don’t want to state the obvious, that Muslims attacked Christians. Mark Steyn also commented about this.

As Mark says, all Jihad is local. A thousand atrocities by the ROP need to be traced to root causes, but one attack on Muslims is endlessly highlighted and analyzed. It obviously would be better if there were no attacks, but the MSM pretends that there are no problems with Islam. And they wonder why we’re suspicious of them and their reporting.

it takes a true savant of exquisitely attuned grievance collection to read an individual reference to “Easter worshippers” as an attempt to avoid acknowledging Christianity.

It’s the bizarre phrasing that is not used anywhere else that was repeated 50 odd times by the same cohort. It is weird. And it stands in stark contrast to the Christchurch message.

    Beto missed the memo.

Trump’s wasn’t a focus-group tested media statement like the Easter Worshippers obviously was.

C’mon. You don’t want people to notice the words you used, but enough care was put into the words that a lot of people used the same exact odd phrase. It’s just begging for people to pay attention. It’s like every other media montage in existence, these days. Here’s the message, repeat it ad nauseum.

That said, it isn’t something to jump up and own about and point and shriek. It is enough I wouldn’t vote for any of these hive minds.

They always read from the same script, don’t they?

You’d think they could each afford their own script writer.

But that would undermine the purpose. The objective of the PC Leftists is to get the public all reciting the same script. The PC Masters read from the same script to get the public reciting the same script. Deviation not allowed.

Well where’s the fun in not doing that?

re Christchurch: they were not killed for their beliefs, they were killed for being culturally and ethnically distinct migrants. I actually didn’t see that set out in many places – in fact the only places I saw it was quotes from what the guy actually wrote (and which it’s now illegal to reproduce if you live in NZ).

….it takes a true savant of exquisitely attuned grievance collection to read an individual reference to “Easter worshippers” as an attempt to avoid acknowledging Christianity. Easter is the most important holiday in the Christian calendar. “Easter” has no other meaning. As a celebration, it is far less secularly degraded than Christmas….

…Beto O’Rourke is the only major 2020 presidential candidate who used the word Christian in his tweet lamenting the attacks. That includes Trump, who mentioned the “attack on churches and hotels” but did not as of yet name the religious group who might have been worshipping in those churches.

Obama has a history of ignoring deliberate targeting of people. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/feb/10/obama-outrages-by-calling-4-jewish-victims-of-pari/

To be fair, Trump really likes hotels.

You don’t think their beliefs might have something to do with their being culturally distinct?

To be fair I really like hotels too.  I don’t think it’s less heinous to kill me because I’m misbehaving in a bar than it is to kill me while I’m at a religious service.  Just saying.

On the one hand, you would be just as dead. OTOH, there would not only be one less you, there would also be several less people like you, and you would have been killed for that reason. It’s a matter of _____-cleansing.

I would hazard that if you and everyone like you is killed, you would be, in some sense, even deader.

You know those crime shows where someone gets warned that if he doesn’t do as he’s told someone will, ‘kill you, your wife, your children, your friends…’?

    Deader.

What is an Easter Worshipper? I have never met one. Christians, yes. If euphemisms are necessary, I prefer “Follower of the Way.”

One might almost think they’re trying to paint us as pagans of some sort.

    Christians are now “cis-religious”.

“Follower of the Way” sounds too much like the rebellious Magog in Gene Roddenberry’s “Andromeda.”  And no, that’s not a flattering comparison.  The Magog were actors in really cheesy hairy suits and bad rodent-like facial makeup who liked to use people as incubators and eat everyone else.

(I don’t really know how to handle all the relevant Game of Thrones references to our culture just yet. This might just be the Best Season Ever for the show…)

If it weren’t so, soldiers wouldn’t be willing to die for countries, fathers for children. There would be absolutely no point to reproduction (passing on of genes, values, morals to live on in another generation).

Without memories, we are more than dead.

It’s an ancient philosophy… older than Beedle the Bard.

I’m good with that for mass murder, less so with more garden variety murder.

Okay you guys, try to keep up:

EASTER WORSHIPERS – Christian people who are murdered by Islamists while at church

CHRISTIANS:  People who fight back when their loved ones have been murdered by Islamists

DELI CUSTOMERS:  Jews who are murdered by Islamists

JEWS:   Israelis who defend their borders, with force if necessary, against Islamists who want to kill them.

    …………………….

The only way to not be labeled a Christian is to behave like a Christian.
