Question Time!

A few times a year, we forgo the guests and open the floor to you, our faithful Ricochet members/listeners to ask the hosts and/or founders anything you want. Politics. culture, movies, sports, recipes, advice for the lovelorn — everything is on the table. Leave your questions in the comments and we’ll get to as many as we can. But you gotta be a Ricochet member to play. Not a member? Join now and ask a question!

What, if anything, can be done about the Left’s domination of academia. They seem to have a chokehold from K-postgrad.

The problem was providing government funding for education, whether it be for public education, or government backed student loans. This makes education loyal to the state, rather than to students and their parents.

Which cheesey 3D sci-fi movie from the 1980s is your favorite?

    Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn

    or

Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone

    Metalstorm. Duh.

How about something more near and dear to 80’s nerd-dom:

“The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The 8th Dimension”

    or

“Big Trouble In Little China” ?

    Or better still

    “Labyrinth” or “Ladyhawke”?

Hey, I liked “Labyrinth” & “Ladyhawke”!!!  The ending of the last one was KILLER!

I listened to This American Life once, from their site: “Producer Sarah Koenig’s mother lives by a set of rules about conversation. She has an actual list of off-limits topics, including how you slept, your period, your health, your diet and more. You don’t talk about these things, she says, because nobody cares.”

Do you guys have things that you could add or agree with?

Interestingly, Koenig tried to persuade her mother to change her mind, and I remember that an astronaut talking about sleeping in space was actually interesting to her. She hated talking about dreams though.

Why is the name of Jesus’ father spelled G-d?  That has puzzled me since I joined.

Some religions don’t want it spelled out.
